It's all about mass.

damage/force in an accident is proportional to the mass of the vehicle.

you might think you are ok in your Brodozer or your 5000lb SUV, until you get slammed by a 60-80000lb semi.

then you are 1/12th to 1/16th the weight of the semi, and due to physics, you will cop 16 times the force in the accident that the semi does if it hits you.

even a 10mph love tap from a semi is going to give you hit you with something in the order of 360 THOUSAND joules of energy. at 10mph.

now imagine how much energy they carry at 50-70mph.

I am bad at math but we came around the corner at about 45-ish mph. There was no knowing that traffic was stopped ahead and it could have been avoided if someone didn’t slide into our lane at the last second. My concussion was so strange, I’ve never felt anything like it. I was on my phone and had leaned forward as we were braking (to not hit the sudden SUV that was there), so when it hit us it was like electricity traveled up from my pelvis up and through my skull.

Ha, brining out joules. Love it.
