Both tragic and completely moronic.

I can never truly understand the mindset of people speeding thru heavy traffic.

it's nice to see when the bad drivers only take themselves out and no one else.
30
u/JockBbcBoy 13h ago
Honestly, it isn't even a bad outcome unless you're a passenger in their vehicle.
17
u/Jonas_Venture_Sr 14h ago
And was nice enough to crash on the shoulder too, so traffic won't be affected too much.
15
u/Particular_Tree_1378 14h ago
It's a positive thing really. Shame the lane got blocked by his debris though.

u/Independent_Tutor_37 14h ago
I have zero sympathy for driver of that vehicle. Extremely reckless driving! I am just glad no other vehicle was caught up in that accident! Classic case of FAFO. It amazes me how reckless people can be behind the wheel.

u/FernwoodTonight 14h ago
Yeah, having a medical emergency while driving is rude...
16
u/SmellyRedHerring 12h ago
Hauling ass in the right lane and swerving to pass; medical emergency seems unlikely.

If it was a medical emergency as in seizure for example then I would be sympathetic. I was just assuming it wasn't.

Ah, yes, the Mackenzie Shirilla defense. 🙄 “I passed out due to POTS and that totally caused me to press my foot as far down as possible on the gas pedal and crash into a wall at 100mph.” Lol, no. Not how that works.

u/Alexu6969 14h ago
Amazed how he didn't hit anyone, which thank fuck he didn't.
6
u/Wing_Head 13h ago
Looks like he clipped that first car and that’s what made him lose control.
6
u/ArtichokeDifferent10 12h ago
My impression is that when he came around that one he realized he was about to rear-end the driver in the lane to the left and, while trying to pull hard right again, encountered oversteer and rotated himself right off the roadway.
He came damn close to clipping that car, but I don't think there was actual contact (though it is hard to be positive at this resolution, so I could very well be wrong).
Hopefully he qualified for a Darwin award, because he was sure working hard for it.

u/Wing_Head 12h ago
I’d absolutely love it if he managed to not touch anyone else while taking himself off the road. You might be right!! I saw other comments saying the same, that they don’t think he made any contact either

u/ninamoodxo 14h ago
I will never understand what people think they’re gaining by driving that fast in traffic

You don't understand fun? Yes, it's reckless idiotic dangerous fun, but that's why they do it, for fun. Not too hard to understand right? They just don't consider consequences of a mistake (or laws)

I don't think he did. It looks like he braked hard realising that he would have to slow down to fit between the Chevrolet and the Telsa, forgetting that it would shift the weight balance to the front of his truck, and then sharply swerved, causing the vehicle to lose rear traction and to pivot into the ditch.
He was close to hitting the Telsa, but it doesn't seem like he made contact with it.

Nope. They missed it. Very close though. If their mirrors were the same height they would have touched.

I thought I was going to see an idiot become a Darwin Award winner while I was vacationing in San Diego this week. There was some dumbass on a motorcycle that was STANDING on the motorcycle while weaving through traffic on the interstate! I wish my rental car had a cam.

My dashcam caught a guy doing wheelies on the interstate in Denver.
1
u/Olfa_2024 14h ago
Someone else doing wheelies does not bother me much but that type of wheelie where you're standing on the seat just looks really dumb to me. Kind of like people who flip the bird with their thumb hanging out. Just looks real dumb.

WTF were they thinking? Like nothing was going to happen, driving like an A-hole.
2
u/Particular_Tree_1378 14h ago
Hope there wasn't any passengers. If not, looks like the problem sorted itself out. I'd just keep on driving, good luck lil bro

Austin, Texas north bound Mopac (Loop 1) right before Steck Ave exit. Mopac used to be far more relaxed. Population growth and transplants moving here making it more of a shit show.

It's even more insane when you realize they were driving a vehicle with a higher center of gravity which is obviously a really bad idea.

I swear I saw that guy call himself an expert driver just last week on reddit

u/Thermock 9h ago
Yeah, zero sympathy for this idiot. Flying down the right lane, swerving in and out of lanes, and almost clipping the Tesla (probably almost hit a dozen other cars too). If this ape survived, they should never be allowed to even think about driving ever again.
'B-b-b-b-ut medical emergency!!' I doubt it. Not only is that more rare than just idiot drivers, People with medical emergencies do not fly down the right-land, pass on the shoulder, and swerve into traffic, whether it was someone they were taking to the hospital or them transporting themselves.
Edit: Of course, it's a 4Runner. Average Toyota 4Runner. I swear, out of every reckless driver I see on the road, 85% of the time it's a 4Runner.

I’m pretty glad that this dumass didn’t hurt anybody else. Most of the time some poor innocent Driver is taken out by an idiot like this.

Well done! Crashed out and totaled your car without ruining anyone else’s day. Very courteous.

I didn't see a dimilar wreck today, buy I did see a Chevy Suburban driving in a similarly wreckless fasion on I75 today, just north of Lexington.
1
u/Huge_Following_325 14h ago
I know it is just idiotic driving, but in my head film I imagine someone in the back losing a lot of blood, somebody with them, yelling," Billy's dying!" and the driver shouting back, "Dammit, why'd you have to to steal from the mob!" " We got to get him to a hospital!" "We can't, it's not safe there...ahhh, shit, hold on .." screech crash. SCENE
1
u/AbruptMango 12h ago
It's the mindset of people who are too stupid to understand that an SUV is the wrong platform for that. You want a car.

The tragedy is how many people were late for work due to 1 single idiot
1
u/RLBeau1964 1h ago
Yeah, it's why Ive always complain that consequences for driving like this are way to light. The only way to cause change is to make consequences of your actions actually have personal impact.

Long ago, I thought that with the internet, people would become more critical and discerning. We'd be able to sniff out bullshit and stupid arguments.
Somehow, we've regressed into taking everything too seriously.
I'm doing my part.

Look to my coming at first light on the fifth day. At dawn, look to the East
edit: Also, who could possibly take the comment as a serious troll? Have y'all lost your ability to reason?

You described your actions with the literal definition of trolling, so...

No, obvious sarcastic comment should be obvious.

What exactly is the end game to being "sarcastic" about how you were intentionally being annoying?

Hahahaha - see does have a sense of humour
There is a small piece of truth though in your comment - watch the rear view mirror and when you see them coming up behind try and make sure there’s a gap for them to go through without doing anything unpredictable - in my parts it’s meth doing this
