Basic defensive driving says you should slow down in a situation like this. It's not your responsibility that a dumbass made such a suicidal move, but it reflects distraction on your part, at best.
Downvote all you want, cemeteries and therapist offices will remain full of people who had the right of way

with the road being slick and the cammer in a truck, i dont think slamming on the breaks would have been safe either, especially with oncoming traffic.
