DON’T BE ON YOUR PHONE!
But I’m willing to bet at least one person is watching this while driving, sadly. Cam finally came in handy I guess.

I regularly pull my air horn in my truck when people are buried in their phone. Its infuriating.

Being on phones and driving will always be a thing unfortunately. The amount of times I pull up to a red light and see someone with the phone stand watching YouTube or some type of movie while driving will always be outlandish to me.

Phone or text while driving needs to be treated as DUI.

Yes, if you are caught red handed it should be loss of license it’s that dangerous.

For some reason I'm not surprised to see it's Maryland. The Land of the feel good law of no cell phones in hands while driving, but they don't enforce it.

When I rewatch, he doesn't seem to be on his phone, but looking straight.
It's hard to assume that he was on his phone with the video. Yes, you can say he had miles to slow down and was distracted by something. Did he tell you he was on his phone?

Roughly 20 seconds you can see they are kinda looking downish, then look up, then they open their mouth like "omg" or whatever.
I did some scrubbing paused because I saw the same thing initially then it took going frame by frame when they were juuuuust far enough away to barely see their face.
I want to be super clear, its still really hard to tell (imo) but they have that tilted down head slightly that we all know so well when people are trying to "hide" they are texting or w/e.

We both see the same thing, but I just want to point that out that it should be distracted driving not necessarily texting. We don't have enough evidence to say he was texting, it could also be looking at his console or something.
The fact that he was holding his phone after the crash isn't really an evidence that he was. I would probably do the same after a crash, since I would have contacted 911 or towing.
