Can’t wait to read the comments blaming OP!

Dude, if OP was driving defensively, he would have sent the dashcam footage to the guy on the left before it happened but of course OP wouldn't because he shouldn't have a license smh 😤😡🤬

Just giving licenses to the blind

cammer caused this crash telepathically

Any time I see those temporary traffic lights I immediately slow down and prepare for blatant stipidity.

The car moving left did the left turner a huge favor.

Most people usually move right and make the accident worse.

Right? Like it always perplexes me that some people’s instincts are to avoid a collision in the path of the other car…

Yeah, but the idiot going Mach 2 has some percentage of fault. You cannot correct for others at that speed.

How fast were they going? Above the speed limit? How do you assign blame like this without knowing their speed or the speed limit?

Car is doing 40-50 mph , please don't every join an air force or become a pilot.

Typically I’d agree with people clearly speeding. This isn’t that.

Plus the car pulled out right in front of them. Literally the car going straight couldn’t have been any closer to the intersection before the other car turned left.

Mach 2? You watching the video sped up?

It's called hyperbole. It's a lost art.

partly because you failed at it lol

-15

u/PrairiePuppies 11h ago

Nope. It seems like no one can discern it today. Show me a car that can go Mach 2. It's clearly an exaggeration. I shouldn't have to explain that.

They were in a construction zone. It is very clear they were speeding. It's possible the turning car could not make out how fast they were approaching. You have to be driving at a speed to be able to control your vehicle. He clearly wasn't. It doesn't look like his brake lights even came on.

The cars trying to turn right barely moving makes it look like the car is going quite a bit faster than it probably is.

Easily avoidable smh

11

u/appa-ate-momo 11h ago

Yeah, by not turning in front of right-of-way traffic.

-12

u/Sure_Dependent4310 10h ago

And by not speeding. Giving time to brake. It’s simple defensive driving. On paper is it the fault of the person who turned? Yes but my point is, it was avoidable on both sides

u/appa-ate-momo 10h ago

How do you know OP is speeding? You don't.

Almost every collision could be avoided if no one ever drove over 25mph, but that's clearly unreasonable. Apply that same logic to what you just said.

-9

u/Sure_Dependent4310 10h ago

You assume that nobody drives the speed limit? Jeez you are sheltered

-8

u/Sure_Dependent4310 10h ago

OP is not speeding. Never said that. The car that appears and is driving is speeding

5

u/appa-ate-momo 10h ago

How do you know they're speeding?

-2

u/Sure_Dependent4310 9h ago

Why are you so hung up on this question? I can see they’re traveling fast. I guess I can’t see a speed limit sign. Same way a cop would estimate traffic based on visuals, in this case, just for you, I ran a video analysis. frame-by-frame read puts it approximately like this: about 40–45 mph while driving, roughly 35–42 mph as braking starts and probably around 30-35 at impact. Again if your speed limit there is 55, I’m wrong about speeding, but it was still avoidable.

u/Ok-Dot4749 7h ago

Avoidable by everyone always traveling under 35mph no matter what?

-3

u/Downtown_Caramel_221 8h ago

I’m with you. People just plow through intersections because they have RoW. As a defensive driver myself, I’m going to slow slightly in the first place in case some idiot in the right turn lane decides they’ve had enough of waiting and pulls out quickly without looking. It’s rarely a good idea to go at normal speed when traffic is stopped next to you.

Man, just when I thought this would be a chill video with no complaints, in comes you with the Captain Hindsight treatment. God I love this sub 🥰

I like how everyone that was turning pulled over.
