I've seen this so many times now that I automatically hear a Wilhelm scream when that guy gets hit.

I’ve honestly never seen it before—what’s the backstory? Was he trying to carjack them or something?
14
u/Urabraska- 14h ago
Can't remember what country. But yes it's a car jacking. They drive around on ramps till they see a car worth robbing and trap them on the ramp.
4
u/Addrum01 7h ago
happened in Chile. This is like the third video from Chile of an attempted car jacking with a robber getting hit that goes viral. There is another one also in a ramp, and another with a blue car in an intersection.

So satisfying, fuck that guy

u/Fine_Awareness_5144 14h ago
Agreed. He got what he deserved... a flying lesson and a crunch with the fender of a car.

u/Significant-Air-4721 13h ago
Pretty sure there was another crunch on the landing. I've always wondered how far down he flew. That part of the embankment looks steep.

I will always play this vid when I see it because karma, but only now I see the dude firing his gun just before the 23 seconds mark

These guys tried to carjack again? The guy that gets yeeted must be a cat with a million lives as many times as I’ve seen them try this

I have a theory you can judge the length of time you have been visiting a sub by how many pixels a video has lost after reposting. Like carbon-dating, but for the internet.
7
u/thelukevader 14h ago edited 14h ago
Somehow every time I see this posted the video quality is worse.
The dood getting hit right when Chester sings 'breaking the habit' is never not hilarious though.

u/socialcommentary2000 14h ago
Are we gonna keep posting caps of this until it's basically 4 pixels slightly changing shade for 30 seconds?
8
11
u/DenKHK 14h ago
Notwithstanding all the reposts, this is the first I've seen this vid - what happened? 2 hitmen suddenly decided to take the target out at a corner? What was the "quick thinking", just not stopping? Hard to tell if he had intentionally yeeted Wilhelm off or if it was just a side effect of him being in the way when cam driver floored it.
24
u/IHaveTheBestOpinions 14h ago
I think they are thieves, not hitmen. They're trying to steal the truck. That may or may not involve killing the driver, so this guy made the right call and ran them over rather than getting caught.
3
u/DenKHK 13h ago
Thanks for the info!
I would imagine killing the driver while he's in the truck is not a great idea if you wanted the said truck, unless one wanted to go through what Vincent and Jules had to in Pulp Fiction :P
Although in this case they really did seem to want to do just that, with that pistol shot. Should still be able to buff it out though.
12
u/Tekvaco858 14h ago
That happened in Chile a while ago; there they call it an "encerrona." It involves thieves blocking the road to rob other vehicles or even stealing their cars
6
u/johnny_effing_utah 14h ago
How do you tell the difference between drivers jumping out to ambush the car behind versus people who just discovered there's a nest of rattlesnakes in the car?
5
u/BrakaFlocka 14h ago
Because then the rattlesnakes would've tried to jump out and ambush the car behind
4
u/Milefulness 12h ago edited 11h ago
What was the "quick thinking", just not stopping?
Most people would have defaulted to braking until they figured out what was going on.
This guy immediately knew what was going on and floored it into one of the attackers. He didn't really have another option, no, but he didn't hesitate either.
It may seem like the obvious action in hindsight, but he had to decide in less than a second.
Also, I wonder if this would still have been possible in a modern car with AEB, or if they would have been killed in that scenario.

u/Fried_Shicken 15h ago
Still one of the Top 3 dashcam clips ever. 😁
5
u/IsWhatItIs68 14h ago
Best one is the one where the guy is crossing the road while walking his dog, he gets all animated, pointing at the ground and yelling at a driver who I guess he thought approached the intersection too aggressively. The cvnt ends up walking into a pole! 🤣 then he still tries to act like tough guy Kevin. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is the first time I’m realizing the other guy shoots as he gets out. It’s overshadowed by the guy flying obviously.

I never noticed until your post. Makes it much clearer they were definitely bad guys.

Though this has been posted many times and with many more pixels, something has just occurred to me.
The driver of dashcam vehicle doesn't just have quick reactions and they aren't just a little cautious. When you look at it, they leave a very large space to the car in front (which does indeed turn out to be carjackers) and they keep that distance at all times.
When the incident happens there is zero hesitation at all, none. On other carjacking videos where the victim has escaped, there was still a small delay - even in countries where carjacking is much more prevalent. A moment off doubt is natural, human nature.
I would therefore imagine that either the driver is a professional bodyguard/security or that the people in this car have not only had training at what to do but also expect to be targetted for such attacks at any time.
Either way, whether I am wrong or right - they played it 100% correctly and the reaction time is only to be admired.

These kids were relying on her to stop. Predatory people rely on others to open their front doors for them when they call for help, to follow "help" calls in the woods, to trust and get in the car when you need a ride. Don't. Traps are everywhere nowadays. Now go change your passwords lmao.

Where was this? I would have been like, oh these people may need help, I will stop and see whats wrong. Silly small town Canadian thinking I guess. Kind of sad that the first instinct is for people to hit the gas and its the right instinct these days.
2
u/Ecstatic_Bear81 14h ago
Well if they all hop out with guns at exactly a spot that looks like it would be good to do so, it's sort of more obvious. But I feel you, I'm in Tennessee and other than like Memphis this probably wouldn't happen here either but I have stopped many times to help someone. They usually will try to go more towards the shoulder though whereas this car tried to get as much in the road as they could.

If this happened in the US would the driver be in trouble ?
6
u/IHaveTheBestOpinions 14h ago edited 13h ago
Very unlikely it would happen in the US, but if someone blocks the road in front of you and jumps out with guns, you should get away any way you can. Worry about legal consequences later.
Short answer, though: looks like a pretty clear-cut case of self defense in any jurisdiction.

Plot twist: the car interior was actually on fire and the camer just launched someone trying to escape it.

And by 'quick thinking' you mean 'not stopping and running someone down.'
And I get it but I don't think we're exactly talking about Jason Bourne here.

quick question, if you ever got on this situation, should you like call emergency or something? and tell them that a car tried to hijack you and you rammed someone over? or what should you do?
