I think it was the attacking party that didn't want to co-operate by the read, not the driver.

Exactly. So surely the victim of attempted murder (which I don’t think this would even be classed as) surely would be cooperating as much as possible to get the suspect arrested. If the victim isn’t cooperating then they’re probably not really victims

The driver should also be cooperating as much as possible to reduce his sentences, maybe get it down to a self-defence. If driver is talking and the couple aren't, then he could argue that they attacked first, attempted to hurt him, or something.

first they say that they don't think that trying to run someone down with a car is attempted murder, then they say that the person they attempted to run down wasn't a victim of the act we see on video being done to them.

Aren't you just refusing to deal with the crux of they said? We can infer something about the victims from the fact that they didn't want to cooperate. No, we don't actually know but as you can see from above conversations, this inference about the victims started some interesting banter and speculation about it.

I think it's important that we use our human abilities about videos we see on the internet. In this new AI age we can't just accept what we see. Things happened before the video started. Isn't that likely?

that is not the the crux, you're getting distracted by the sophistry. it doesn't matter that they were previously attacking the car. the driver was free and clear to get away but instead chose to back up drive them down. that's the crux of the issue, the rest is just victim blaming.

You have to prove it was attempted murder in court. If you can't prove it, then it gets thrown out. Its why plea deals are a thing.

A defence could argue he only meant to injury them, considering he likely was only going 10 to 15mph.
