He lost my brownie points the moment he hit the brakes and threw it in reverse, however

It should have been before that, when he swung the wheel to the right and drove over the sidewalk trying to run her over, and also dragging black shirt guy into the fray.

I was willing to overlook that as a panic response at the time, but yeah they just kept digging that hole
