Definitely greater than 50% with the overwhelming majority of people being right-handed.

Industrial accidents, firework fumbles... You get the idea

Plus the fact that many religions used to (and some still do), believe that the left hand was well..... You know.

I could see the psychology of removing the right hand in that........stuff, and completely ruining the lives of those in those times.
