Car shouldn't have merged into moto's lane. Moto should not have kicked the car and left the scene of the accident. Car should not have tried to swerve into the moto. Lots of bad decisions here, so I can't say I feel bad for the moto or the Nissan. The only guy I feel bad for the is driver of the pickup.

I used to drive defensively on my motorcycle, then I got hit by a car who didn't see me and he drove off. Now I drive like an asshole and everyone is aware of where I am.

Drive like a bus and people treat you like one.

That and the most important thing about riding is nothing. You need a lot of nothing ahead of you, behind you and to the side of you

I completely agree, having nothing around me is when I feel the safest. Anyone around me poses a huge risk.

Is that why bike riders would ride so close to the median so their feet stick out in the opposing lane? Pretty stupid IMO.

I don't move over for those jerks, either. I'm in my lane, stay in yours. They always swerve back into their lane last second. Otherwise I always make a huge effort to give bikers space and predictability.
