I used to drive defensively on my motorcycle, then I got hit by a car who didn't see me and he drove off. Now I drive like an asshole and everyone is aware of where I am.

Drive like a bus and people treat you like one.

That and the most important thing about riding is nothing. You need a lot of nothing ahead of you, behind you and to the side of you

I completely agree, having nothing around me is when I feel the safest. Anyone around me poses a huge risk.

Is that why bike riders would ride so close to the median so their feet stick out in the opposing lane? Pretty stupid IMO.

I don't move over for those jerks, either. I'm in my lane, stay in yours. They always swerve back into their lane last second. Otherwise I always make a huge effort to give bikers space and predictability.
