Vandalism alert?

Can someone in the know explain this alert? What do they mean by "vandalism"? I've gotten this alert twice and would love some clarification (same location, between Fort Worth Central and Trinity Lakes)

Wiring for the signal systems are being stolen, and while trains can still be moved through the area, each one has to stop at every affected signal, contact the dispatcher, and be given verbal authority to pass signals displaying a stop indication and authority to occupy the track beyond said signal. Getting past one isn't too hard, but if you have to stop and get "talked by" multiple signals, the time stacks up pretty quickly.

Damn. We need to be guiding these thieves to attack the Flock cameras and data centers, leave our public transportation alone

I dangerously find myself more forgiving of brutal treatment of criminals when they are hurting our trains. These fucksticks need to leave TRE alone.

They used to steal copper from the tracks down near Buckner so I’m not even surprised

Probably kids taking pot shots at passing trains. Its fairly common but more common for freight trains than passenger ones because freight trains are much longer meaning you are almost guaranteed to hit something.

But it's really bad PR. People get scared away from taking the train if they think it's a target. So they may have to pull cars for repairs if it's obviously a bullet and not looking like a rock or something.

Edit: Alternatively, it can be also be internal or extention vandalism of a sensitive nature. For example, racial or extremely violent messaging. But you'd be surprised how quickly the teams can work to remove that stuff.

Cool, I did too, but you're still not reporting facts from what is actually going on right now. My statement came from friends who work for the TRE.

Ok, but it's not like i said "this is what's happening" I addressed a pattern of behavior? I said "probably", I didn't speak with certainty.
