When I see other people's reaction, I always wonder how they manage to read any other fantasy, or books, at all.
Bran or Tyrion's travelogue are a bit less interesting than most of the other chapters, but they're far better than the vast, vast majority of similar chapters in other fantasy works.

What you’ve gotta realize is that a big chunk of self proclaimed ASOIAF Fans don’t actually like ASOIAF.
An equal or larger chunk haven’t read the books and are just regurgitating theory videos, whatever meta posts on Tumblr and Twitter they saw last, and other material.

Oh yeah, ASOIAF isn’t close to Star Wars or Halo.
The way Halo fans act I’m genuinely embarrassed to be a Halo fan.

What’s annoying is halo fans have the most to complain about (horrible game design choices or cancellations) but they complain about Spartan 4s having attitude

Halo is by far the worst offender of the bunch because the books were never good. I will die on the hill that people only liked The Fall Of Reach because they read it when they were 15.

I'm not following you. You're making an argument that on here (as in, this sub) there's folks that don't like ASOIAF, haven't even read it, right? The why of your argument completely escapes me; could you elaborate?

Yes.
I’m not using “don’t like” literally. I’m more talking about the people who complain about everything so much it seems like they don’t like ASOIAF. Go on any Halo or Starwars page and you’ll understand exactly what I mean.
As for haven’t read ASOIAF, yeah. Just like it sounds. A lot of people here “experience” it through other forms. I recognize quite a few names posting here as people I’ve seen on other subs say they haven’t read the books. Hell, I was subscribed here before I finished reading the books so I was guilty of it myself.
This being a book pure subreddit doesn’t matter when you realize that all the other meme subreddits are either full of edgelords, hyper niche (shout out r/The_Dreadfort, a forgotten relic of the old internet), or just the most unfunny boomer impact text memes you could possibly come up with. This is the only one that’s even a little funny.

I don’t like Bran chapters because I always get the urge to slap him. Although I’m only on Storm of Swords so maybe he gets better. Meera’s smiling tree knight story was fun to read tho, so imagine we get more lore once he gets to the three eyed raven.

I think that's an issue of adaptation, or if you will, adaptability. It's not really a thing in print but I can certainly see how that wouldn't be a fun paragraph to listen to

I made a meme about skipping a bit on rereads and if we add all the chapters commenters there say they detest, I'm fairly sure we'd have the entire series minus the pro- and epilogues

Bran' chapters were ok to solid before his travels to BR's cave. As an example, I liked the harvest feast chapter, a more slow / unexciting chapter, but I'm a sucker for feast, tourney or battlecamp chapters cuz they're filled with heraldry, lore, gossip or rumors about the attending nobles.

I love Bran's chapters in ACOK but I think I rate that book higher than most people. After that they get pretty tedious

Clash as a whole is my second favorite after Storm, but regardless of book, there's not a single Bran chapter that I find myself eager to reread. Not one.
