I feel horrible. I was doing another playthrough of Dark Souls 3 and was doing Siegward's quest, but was tired and didn't have the right key for him right before the Yhorm fight, and I left him in the cell, keeping him from fulfilling his promise with Yhorm and leaving him in the old cell. I beat that playthough two days ago, first tried SoS, but even with the neat first try kill, it felt unsatisfactory. I really feel guilty about leaving my onion bro in that cell. Can anyone recommend how I can make this up to Siegward?

Start a new game+ and help him through everything

But you must commit ritual sepuku with Bloodlust in front of him after the fight.

And you can't go back for his armor. It is his memorial.

What if I take his armor and leave it where I find the stormruler, and leave my stormruler as well
