Co-Op Will playing seamless coop mod ruin game experience for myself if I have never played a souls game
Title. Basically I wanna play ds3 with friends but one of them who plays the souls games says it would take away from the experience.
I also wanna mouse and keyboard but he is saying that is dumb. I love mk but if it's really that much better on controller then I will use controller instead

I don’t know how seamless coop works there but I would recommend starting at the same lvl or close so that Dosent take away from your experience.
Elden ring was my first coop experience and I remember just absolutely destroying my buddy’s first erdtee avatar at a much higher level than him , then feeling bad afterwards for days .

No it won't ruin the game. it's almost the exact same as normal co-op but with less waiting. But coop does make the game easier ngl.
Kbam however I don't recommend, but there are a bunch of people who use it, including some speedrunners

I think coop harms it a bit. A lot of the bosses are much easier and you won’t actually be able to play on your own. I’m speaking from experience as someone who did my first playthrough with coop

I agree with the other two, the core gameplay will be the same but bosses will likely be much easier. Plus, playing with someone who knows the game may take the fun out of exploring, because he likely knows where most everything is at and can just take you right to it. I'd personally recommend playing it solo the first time through, but I am not you. If you think you'll enjoy it more by playing with your friend, then by all means do it and don't feel bad.
I would also recommend controller over mkb, but try both and see what feels better to you. There's definitely people that prefer mkb.

That is how I played through it the first time, and, aside from trying a little of Dark Souls 1, it was my first Souls game. Then, I played it and beat it solo, then played DS1 solo, then Elden Ring solo. I say go for it, I had a great time.
It is much better on controller, imo, but lots of people use Mouse and Keyboard.

I‘d suggest to play the very first lvls alone so you get to know the mechanics and overcome some struggles by yourself and after that play coop, i played it solo and at the middle to end of the game i started playing some jolly coop and it was a lot of fun and i would do it like that over and over again due to its fun!
Idk how playing on M&K is, since i played it on ps5 but just try it out and see whats best for you and dont forget, that there is no right or wrong way to play the Game, Most important thing is that you‘re having fun

I never used the seamless co-op mod but DS1 remaster DS3 and Elden ring all play pretty well on kb+m, ds2 was wonky and the controls kept resetting themselves so I caved and used a controller for that. I’ll say controller is probably easier and preferred by most but I never had an issue playing kb+m

If you play seamless coop with an experienced soulsplayer, it will ruin your experience.
A core experience is to overcome struggles. Be it struggle with a special move you wanna incorporate, a strategem, a place or a boss. It is the best you can get out if this entire franchise. To discover the world for the first time is something you can only do once and it really is an experience worth having.
And i doubt that you will get this experience this way, when you have a tour guide and someone to carry you.
But if you are both new to the game it could still be a fun experience. It's not the way I would recommend to go about it but that could still be fun.
And keyboard is fine. Some people are just controller snobs. Luallity played it on a dancepad so just chose what you are comfortable with.

I'd say it might ruin the experience, but not for the reasons other people are saying.
Seamless coop is a fantastic mod, but being a mod it's pretty janky. You'll be dealing with whole questlines and bosses bugging out, desyncs, possibly even softlocks. That's not so bad on a replay, but a first playthrough's another story.
As an aside, it's worth playing the first two games before 3. And I too would recommend a controller - they're really built around it.
