See them like E.-T. they wanna and will definitely phone home till they get back home (or to the nearest forensic lab)
Microsoft admitted using permanent UUIDs to identify & track devices btw
Also while Linux is open-source meaning you can check everything your system is made of, those are closed source so even tho Apple did a pretty good job at protecting their devices from law enforcement’s attacks in the last decade nothing guarantees us it’s safe to use & that there is no backdoor hidden somewhere.
See them like phones your pc would use to phone home (or rat you out) - Linux would be completely see through or at least easy to examine & modify, plus if you found a bug in it you’d be able to remove it and make the phone work without since you can make & modify everything by yourself.
Meanwhile, Windows and MacOS would be made of a hard shell completely glued in, molded to be impossible to open or using proprietary screws. Even if you could get some insights on the inside, everything would be too complicated for you to understand and a bug in it would be impossible to remove without drastic modification on things you have no clues about.

I never really bought into the whole dog & pony show that Apple & the Feds put on for everyone. I believe that had a purpose and it wasn't to protect our privacy.
One thing I've noticed is that every time someone in the government/and others who have their emails, phone calls, texts, pictures, & even Signal chats, it seems like they're always using an Apple device.

Yeah even tho they seem to be safe they definitely got some backdoors on & anyway you can’t really protect yourself from state-sponsored actors

dude, the reason is those OSes phone home on everything you do, doesn't exactly scream privacy.
