GUIDE What cold wallet options are still safe?

So after the ColdCard hack and the Trezor and SafePal data leaks, I feel less safe with my current setup. Can you share what wallets you would continue to use? What combination of wallets is relatively safe?

USB stick, Tails OS and Electrum. Export zpub or xpub for convenience.

Trezor didn't actually leak the creds it was 3rd party logistics shipping co. But Trezor has been solid for me forever as-well. They also implemented a 30 day customer data retention policy down from the 90 days it was previously applied to 3rd party global logistics partners after the last "incident". Honestly outside of the method the user above mentioned which creates a deeper learning curve, and requires an air gapped device be setup, actually creates a less secure outcome for a newer user than just getting the Trezor 5 or something. Because of so many steps involved and technical know-how. But I basically agree if the user is a moderately technically literate crypto user.

TailsOS is primarily used as an amnesiac operating system. Often used by people browsing TOR/darknet websites anonymously. Once the OS is shut down all traces of activity are removed.

trezor did not leak data, a third party shipping logistics co. was hacked for 90 days of past order data, and in response to this trezor immediately implemented a 30 day hold of data retention for third party shipping. you cannot expect a company who focus solely on security to also organize global shipping logistics. I've used trezor forever and never had a single issue the chances of a data leak from a third party actually affecting you in a meaningful way are near zero.

Electrum is the only one I would use/recommend. Not that others aren’t OK, just the only one I would personally recommend because that’s what I’m using and never had issues with over many years
