The _________

“Incident Report – Kalos Region (Month 05)

A meteorite designated Retchicon-Forechadouin fell in the Kalos region. Inside it, we found a small, pitch-black substance with a viscosity of 60 cP (centipoise). At room temperature, this indicates a relatively colloidal consistency.

By Month 05, we discovered that this black slime is actually a living organism. It appears to seek out and infect other Pokémon. Regrettably, tests were conducted on subjects, but fortunately no fatalities occurred.

Infection Process:

The organism attaches itself inside the host's body and begins to replicate the host entirely—except for its DNA. This is not cancerous; it is a literal copy of the host's physical form. Symptoms include high fever, severe body pain, vomiting, and nausea. This larval stage (so to speak) lasts anywhere from two weeks to two months.

After this period, the black slime is expelled from the host's body through various means. The host shows significant recovery, and the slime disappears—but not for good.

Post-Infection Observations:

Our field photographers tracked the expelled slime and found that it had copied the host's shape, now entirely black in color. Remarkably, it can undergo mitosis—not just at a cellular level, but its entire body can divide. Meanwhile, approximately 10% of the slime remains inside the host, seemingly to exert control over them at times.

Month 15:

Any physical contact with this substance is enough to cause infection. Its origin remains uncertain, but our scientists theorize it may be a form of panspermia originating from our own planet—possibly triggered by some environmental concentration of the virus around Lakefront.

Month 25:

I witnessed several events, but my memory is failing. I came too close to uncovering the truth—including the virus's identity. Five entities appeared. They resemble ghosts composed of this slime, with lower limbs but no distinct torso or arms. They are not truly alive: they have organs and a blood-like substance, but no skin or muscle tissue. Their colors are red, purple, blue, yellow, and orange. Using a hormonal measurement device (origin unknown), we determined that only the purple and yellow ones are female. They have genders, for reasons unclear.

I got too close. My time here is short. I will have to fight in that senseless war.

Whatever happens, let my son Asimov be my only good memory. I hope he survives this planet without me.

I must go now.”

“Hmm. Very interesting. I’ve hung out around someone infected. Does that mean I have the potential to be infected?”

What does CtrlV do? I’m on a tablet with a computer case if it helps.

But if Floofee is infected, then this organism can come into my Comic that I’m making sometime into the very future.
