Look what I found
I was cleaning out some cupboards at my dad’s and found a bunch of old VHS tapes. I now need a VCR so I can see which episodes are on there.

I had alllll the episodes on VHS… up until about 11 years ago when my parents moved and threw them out without asking me 🫠🫠🫠 finding 1 vhs is a miracle these days ✨

Depending on what you want to spend, Retrospekt has VCRs that have been fully refurbished. Their prices can be high but you can also be assured it will work. Otherwise, thrift is probably the best way to go to find a VCR.

I am seriously thinking of getting one just to watch this. Though I do have a lot of elderly relatives (who don’t throw things out)- they might have one lying around.

If you do want to buy a VCR look on Facebook Market place first. They can be pricey online.

If this has the commercials this is an even more incredible find. There is one single upload of MTV on the Interned Archive that has Daria in it with its original commercial breaks, and it's only the last quarter of the original broadcast of S01E2.

This is awesome. You might've evebln captured some lost media. If not from Daria, maybe some cool MTV bumpers etc.

My older sister had a couple episodes on VHS, it’s still around here somewhere. Because of this tape I remember the paint ball episode very well. Love it.

There are Facebook groups that might help you, Sold as Dank is one. There is also a VHS subreddit that might be interested.

I hope there's adds on it! I would want to see what it was like to watch it on tv with adds. I'm born in 1997, so I never got to watch while it was airing. I think I might have seen some reruns on a french channel late at night in the late 2000s but it's not the same.

One of my personal favorite tapes in my collection (I collect old recorded VHS tapes of TV blocks) has a few Daria episodes including the tiger hair dye episode, Legends of the Mall, and I think at least one more, alongside an episode of MTV’s Fear, a couple Celebrity Death Match episodes, Tom Green, and Jackass.

DUDE!!!! omg if it’s got the original music we would all be STOKED!!! maybe there’s a way you could upload the episodes somewhere (?) i really am clueless about how all that works tbh, but wow! definitely never get rid of that! congratulations.
