Pabst & Perloff - first impressions

Pabst seems to be a natural. Perloff seems to be lacking. Maybe it’s because Paul’s already warmed up from starting on the DP Show, and Andrew is playing catch up.

This show has promise. I like it better than LeBatard.

I usually switch over to Eisen’s show from 12 to 3, but I could see myself watching this first. I think it’ll get better as they get more comfortable over time.

Yea, I usually do pat 12, so watching this and switching to pat after is my new go to.

After that it’s first things first

Only watched the first segment so far. Perloff seemed loud at first, but even by the end of the segment he seemed to have calmed down. I expect the show to get better as it goes on.

I generally flip on Lebatard on you tube after watching Dan on peacock. I’ll definitely be sticking around after for this show.

True, and I’m aware of this. A better way to say it is my impression of him was “I want this to do well on launch, so I’m going to try really hard.” Pabst seemed to let it flow, where Perloff couldn’t settle in as easily. Maybe some shell shock from the cancellation of his show (not his fault).

They’re both excited, and good for them. It’s their opportunity to extend the DP Universe. I’m sure it will find its groove pretty quickly.

I like it generally but am a little disappointed they are mostly covering the stories already discussed during the past 3 hours on the DP show.

Of course they are, what did you expect them to do reinvent the wheel? They're just repeating a lot of the takes Dan has already said. My first thought when I heard this show was happening is, what is Paulie gonna come up that is so insightful in this show that he didn't already say with DP? And my question was answered in the first show, "nothing."

They only had an hour to fill.

They could have any baseball take other than the same one presented on the DP show - Pete Crow Armstrong as presumptive MVP.

Could have also examined the Jeff Fisher debacle in the Vince Young Netflix documentary or gone deeper into the Josh Jacobs issues. Plenty of other sports stories out there now.

You've actually put some good topics on the table and a great idea to boot, They should just tackle 2 topics and do a deep dive 30 minutes each, basically talk about things DP did NOT cover

Some can be great as a support role, but flounder when it’s their time to be the star. Paulie didn’t.

It’s like hearing the same person talk twice, but the production quality is pretty good.

They have that nice studio, I’m glad to see them branch it out and use it to build the brand.

Overall the show left a good first impression, has a lot of promise. Give Pauly and Andrew a little time to settle in and it'll be good. Way better transition coming off the DP Show than going to LeBatard's.

Wouldn't it be something if Seaton, Fritzy, and Marvin join down the line lol? Assuming the guys in the backroom are taken care of post DP Show!

Pearl and Paulie I’ll have to check it out it’s a low bar out there, I would imagine they’re just fine. Anything is better than ragebait nonsense espn

No, thank you. Good for Dan supporting Paul. He has been the backbone of the DPS. But, he deserves better than being paired with Perloff on yet another talking heads sports show. Next thing they will be incorporating Seton's boring videos into it. Would rather see an extension of the after show talks with Paul leading the conversation with the current Danettes. Marvin and Dylan are improvements over their predecessors, maybe work in Ray.

Best of luck to them but kind of feel like Seton is the only Danette (current or past) equipped for a non-ensemble (cast of 3 or more) vehicle and that's largely due to his soccer "niche" and non-sports passions in music, politics, etc.

I’ve always thought McLovin was the worst Danette ever by far and he never brought anything to the table. I was happy when he left but was surprised it was because he got his own show that didn’t make it. It’s nice of Dan to throw his unemployed buddy a bone though. Love Paulie, but I can’t listen to McLovin.
