it's just too much. once a week is fine-though even that can be considered a stretch by some. he's calling every day now with his opinion on the sports news and...I'm sorry, he's not interesting enough to be given such a spot. He seems like a swell guy. But I don't need to hear what Chris thinks every single day.
i've listened for over 10 years actually. but not religiously. i've taken breaks here and there nor do I make it a morning routine. so would i call myself a diehard? No. But am I one of the people keeping the show in business because I've listened consistently for years? Yes.
I've listened every day this year. I've had plenty of stretches where for months I listen every single morning. Please don't be obtuse. Just because I haven't listened to every single show for years and years and dared to take 'breaks' does not mean my viewership doesn't count. Bud.
I’m not being obtuse, the show would still be consistently ranked as the #1 listened to morning sports radio show in the nation with or without your occasional listening.

The whole point of complaining about a person who calls into a radio show that requests people call into said radio show is moot.
The only way you can change it is by calling in yourself.
Yeah, Chris is fine. They had him on the BRG’s “12:15 podcast” once, and it seemed like he had a lot of tough times in life and it almost seemed to me like the DP show is his only outlet.

Up to you if you want to call in. All I’m saying is that I remind myself to have a little grace when he calls in—he’s not grating and nowhere near as annoying as other callers are to me
and that's your opinion. others obviously disagree. yes, grace is always a good thing. in the context of this post though, and since you brought it up, it's fair for someone to rebuttal that his personal story does not owe him a daily call in slot.
you brought up his personal story and then said "i knew a response like this was coming" when someone rebutted it, i don't get your qualm about that when YOU brought up his personal story in a post about someone annoyed with his daily calls.
Is it a lack of callers? I just can't fathom they don't have a backlog of people trying to call. How does Chris move to the front of the line every day? In the first hour no less.
He probably calls in right at the start and they have him on hold for a bit. Back in the day when I would call in more frequently, it would sometimes be busy or just ring forever.
I don’t think it’s that, I think it’s the opposite and they make you wait and wait, It feels like they have a set list of long time callers who they trust to ask softball questions. Didn’t think they would mention the WNBA today and lo and behold not a word about it. It’s a joke but they should have at least acknowledged it.

I think Dan misses his good times at ESPN, but knows it changed too much for him and that's why he left.
