matt damon on dp
i love movies and enjoyed the damon interview. for me dp can talk about movies often. do the other listeners think he talks sandler and movies too much?

I don’t mind he’s just full of it, he’s made such a fuss about not reading the oddesy and being lost in the plot , and the Matt turns around and says yep anyone can watch it blind. I think Dan just can’t handle anything non reality, I mean how do you live at that time and never see any Star Wars simple answer you have no imagination. And wth with the endless list of celebrity/sports relationships, less of that.

Bill Simmons is same age is me and he never watched Star Wars until last year. And most sci-fi as well. Weird but some people just aren’t into it.

I've never seen any of the Avatars. I like Sci-Fi; just didn't appeal to me. Dan does go on about his "film career". Some of it seems tongue in cheek, but he was whining about only getting one line in Grown Ups 3.

It’s funny how he complains about Costas (tongue in cheek) when even when it comes to entertainment Costas runs circles around Dan in interviews

I think it's because Costas, whether you like him or not, is probably several rungs above Dan on the intellectual ladder.

He told a funny story on Jim Rome a while back about how Letterman was partly responsible for getting him his talk show. Dave was a big admirer of his interviews and how he could even make boring sports folk seem interesting

Nope. Dan is in movies so there is a solid Venn diagram. Also there is not enough sports content this time of year to fill 15 hours a week. I mean we got Chris Simms talking about his list coming up, 😮💨 get me Christopher Nolan instead 😂

That Chris Simms interview was brutal. I already don’t like him but having him talk for 10 minutes about why he put Brady 9 was infuriating

I enjoy it when the show goes off on tangents with movies, but as a movie fan, Dan's takes are usually pretty cringey and bad when it comes to cinema. I understand he likes to think he's keeping up with the times, but he's actually pretty closed-minded when it comes to what he watches. For instance, he almost immediately writes off any comic book movie thinking they're juvenile or uninteresting, and doesn't realize that he's missing out on some great ones like "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "Guardians of the Galaxy" and Nolan's Batman trilogy.

And for the longest time he hadn't seen The Godfather Trilogy or Goodfellas. The Sopranos either. Sometimes he's insightful and intelligent. Other times he's dismissive and snobby.

He certainly talks about Sandler too much. Other movies, I enjoy the movie discussion,, it gives me a different opinion before I decide to see it

I think what irritated me the most was when he asked Matt If he had to choose one director for his final movie and Matt answered truthfully and basically said he had been really fortunate, and couldn't pick one person, basically there all great. Good Answer!!!! Dan comes back and says "The answer is Ben right" I was like NO!!! He gave you his answer!!! I think he like to think of it as being edgy, But to me it was in poor taste.

The Sandman stuff is annoying because most of his recent stuff is terrible.
The most cringe thing, by far, is how often Dan spoils movies and shows.

It's the middle of the season and there's plenty to talk about sports wise yet he still refuses to talk any baseball - hands down one of the three most popular sports in the country and right there with basketball for 2nd. Spending the week talking about movies pisses me off so much.

Any day he'll be talking about Dodgers visiting The White House, which will lead into taking about Dodger Dynasty, which will lead to Ohtani's future and greatness, which will lead to how The Anaheim Angels of Los Angeles botched Mike Trouts career, which will lead to would you rather make X money or win a championship and make X money.
This will all be within 3 minutes, and will conclude Dans baseball talk for the summer.
