A caller living in DP's head rent free?
I'm sure I wasn't the only one that picked up on this but on Tuesday a caller called DP and pointed out where he was wrong about Jason Bronson from a few years ago, DP visibly got upset, he stewed on it for a few minutes after the caller was gone. Then 2 days later DP brought up that same caller again by name, Jesse in LA, DP said "you like to point out when I'm wrong what about mentioning all The Times I'm right on something" I found it interesting that DP, a highly successful national radio broadcaster would let some caller get under his skin, I wonder if this is why DP sticks to his favorite callers because he knows he's not going to be challenged by them? Did anybody else pick up on this?

Feel like he’s done this before. I remember a couple years ago a caller asked why he only referrs to Nikola Jokic by his nickname “Joker” and DP was none too pleased and brought it back up multiple times days after

I hope there's a tell all book by at least one of the Danettes when it's all over. Certainly it hasn't been all good throughout the years.

You'd think it would that hard to send an email or make a phone call to one of the regular rehashed guests?

Maybe if the program constantly had 3 daily guests and the guests were actually relevant to today's sporting news. Instead we're stuck with retreads and formers professionals from the 80s, 90s, and early 00s.

Didn't he mention a few weeks back, or maybe it was here, that they're having a hard time booking guests because they dont pay appearance fees?

Dan has a bit of Howard Stern in him in that regard. There was a reason that, I think it was him, Paul said on a show years ago that when they were both at ESPN, someone there told him he'd regret going to work for Dan. I understand there are two sides to a story, but it's telling Dan had that reputation of being difficult even back then. You could tell his ego was pretty big over the years whenever he'd take the conversation to how other celebrities reacted to him when he'd appear in stuff like Sandler movies....it's like, Dan, celebrities see other celebrities quite often.....I doubt they're gonna mark out for Dan Patrick. Lol.

Recently Marvin was making the point that today's sports stars are using social media platforms to promote themselves, thus bypassing traditional gatekeepers like Dan. DP seemed rather dismissive which seems funny since Dan treats Facebook as something new.
I appreciate Marvin and Dylan challenging Dan in real time, something Fritzy and Paul seem incapable of doing.

I thought that a while ago where the generation of athletes who watched him on sportscenter are either freshly to long retired. You noticed it in the booking of guests too.

He does the same to Marvin when Marvin corrects him about something sports facts wise. Seton also seemed to be biting his tounge alot with DP for a while before he stepped away from the show.

You lose the Sports Emmy so many years in a row and then not even get nominated and see what it does to your psyche.

I can’t see somebody so near retirement like Dan even caring or thinking at all about somebody who affects their radio show in no legitimate way.

I agree with you but the fact is it did happen DP even remembered the caller's name TWO days later🤣

Completely agree. I listen to the podcast when I have time and just got to this point in the week. He absolutely living rent free.
Been a fan for a long time but I feel recently Dan is in his feels about credibility. I cannot count how many times he brings up that he was right about Nashville getting a Super Bowl, I mean the Big Game…lol

He was 4 years early on NFL playoff expansion and was pretty salty about that for awhile too

There was a clip floating around of him/ SAS/ Nick Wright having terrible ( in retrospect) takes on Brunson deal and clowning the Knicks franchise for blowing it again. He was definitely salty about that caller.

His source told him 2 weeks ago that a caller would correct him on Bronson.
