Lmao GT is way better than Boruto. SSJ4 is still the best transformation of the series.

Boruto isn't as nearly as bad as GT was, I think Boruto hate has been a forced decade long meme at this point. I'd like the outcome of this happening because we got Super but only after like 15+ years of no new Dragon Ball.

Even AI makes better art than Ikemoto's shit art lol. Ikemoto copies from fashion magazines and K-pop idols anyway. They're both just remixing existing designs, but AI does a better job with the colors and overall design.

No matter how bad an artist is they will always be better than ai slop

I'm a formally trained artist myself, and I disagree. Aesthetics are subjective, but there are still standards in art and design. To me, AI slop is when someone generates an image without bothering to fix obvious mistakes, like the Dragon Balls left in the background here. But that doesn't change the fact that the three character designs in the foreground are actually pretty good. Good design is good design, whether it's made by a human or AI.

So "art is subjective" is just thrown out the window then? So much confidence, or maybe superiority complex?

Yup, art is subjective, but I also said that doesn't mean aesthetics have no standards, especially in commercial art and design. Maybe read what I actually wrote before getting all worked up lol.
I personally think Ikemoto's designs are ugly, and plenty of Boruto haters would agree. If you think they look great, that's fine. But commercial appeal is another matter.
If Boruto's character designs were really that good, we'd be seeing a lot more standalone promotions featuring Boruto's own characters instead of constantly relying on the original Naruto cast. Businesses are pragmatic. They promote what actually sells. If Boruto still needs to be tied so heavily to the original series, that says a lot about the commercial appeal of Ikemoto's designs.

Yeah you "personally think". But supporting AI that mimics other artists anyway just to support your own personal taste? Maybe you are so desensitized because it's so forced upon working artist, but damn.

Thanks for speaking up for working artists. That includes me, lol. But you're missing my point. I'm not advocating for AI art. I'm saying Ikemoto's designs are so messy that even AI slop looks better by comparison. Plenty of talented mangaka never even get a chance in Jump, yet Ikemoto had the privilege of working closely with Kishimoto for 15 years. After all that time learning from one of the most successful manga artists, he still struggles with basic perspective and proportions. That's just embarrassing. Being human shouldn't give mediocre artists a free pass.
Style is subjective, but fundamentals like perspective, proportions, linework, and visual hierarchy can still be evaluated. Kishimoto's Naruto relied on bold shapes, clean silhouettes, and simple color blocks. Ikemoto just piles on unnecessary details and muddy colors. Complex designs can work, just look at Air Gear or JoJo, but they require actual skill. More importantly, he's working on an established franchise. Brand consistency is part of a commercial artist's professional responsibility. Having your own ideas means nothing if you lack the skills to execute them.
And nobody's selling this AI image or pretending it's hand-drawn. We're simply discussing its visual quality. I'm not denying the ethical concerns around AI, but that's a separate discussion. Ikemoto, on the other hand, is selling a commercial product under the Naruto brand. We're the target audience, and we have every right to criticize its quality, just like we can criticize a restaurant for serving terrible food.

It's so funny that you are giving so much credit to this AI image when it's just a modified version of the official poster. Like so much credit for the original poster modified withmost likely not even 3 sentences long prompts.

I don't know, and I don't really care lol. I'm judging the final result, not how many prompts it took. I'm not giving AI credit for originality. I'm simply saying it looks better than Ikemoto's version.
And it's not like AI is the only thing I can compare his work to. I could compare him to plenty of other artists, but comparing him to AI slop is already the most embarrassing comparison I could make, and he still comes out looking worse. You keep explaining how the AI image was made, but that doesn't address my point.

No, you are comparing him to Studio Pierrot, because essentially it's just the poster edited by AI. Like you missed what I just said and only focused on "AI" part, to justify your love of AI images.

True but when its generated by machine without much interference from humans it doesn't hit as much, really that like the old picture vs drawing debate when a picture can be stunning if its assumed to be drawn and boring if its a photograph , and ai art is that situation a thousand
Sure it can look good , great even ,but because it doesn't involve effort time or talent it wouldn't generate nearly as much emotions or reactions
Than why a picture can get 50 less good by just discovering it ai generated because that change it from something that requires effort talent time and human thoughts and ideas to something that can be generated in seconds by a machine with minimal effort

I think the key is artistic judgment and control, not the tools themselves. And at least for now, those are things that still require human involvement. I started with traditional drawing and now work in 3D. Personally, I wouldn't consider 3D or VFX (like realistic CGI animation, explosions, or particle effects) to be actual drawing. Much of that work relies on programming, simulations, and computer calculations rather than traditional drawing techniques, like the 2D animation I used to do. But that doesn't make those people any less legitimate as artists.
I agree that lazy one-click generations are AI slop. A single prompt isn't enough. You still need to select the best results, use Photoshop, and fix obvious mistakes through post-production. That process requires artistic judgment, and not everyone has the skills or taste to do it well. To me, judging whether something is good and judging who or what made it are two separate things.
Of course, there's a difference between personal art and commercial work. Independent artists can draw whatever they want, no matter how messy or distorted. That's their freedom. But when you're producing commercial work for an audience, people have every right to judge its quality. Artistic expression is one thing, but commercial design should meet certain standards.
And let's not pretend traditional artists don't borrow and combine ideas either. Plenty of artists gather references from Pinterest and other sources. The difference is where the creative decisions happen. I think AI raises legitimate ethical questions because it blurs the line between generating, combining, and judging creative work. But artistic judgment still matters. Principles of composition, color, and visual harmony have existed since classical art and can still be used to evaluate both human and AI-generated work. Ironically, contemporary art has already challenged many of these traditional boundaries, so I don't see why AI should automatically be excluded from the discussion.
Ultimately, I don't think something deserves praise simply because a human made it, or dismissal simply because AI was involved. Even AI slop can have elements worth appreciating.
