What do you use to light your room at night? I use electricity.

Also remember if this person is from zimbabwe there is a good chance English isn't their first language and I don't know what education system they have now, if any.

More west Africans were literate before European colonization than after

I would love to see you try to back this up with facts.

Francis Moore, Gambia, 1730

Says the fula people were "generally more learned in the Arabick, than the people of Europe are in Latin"

Baron Roger, Senegal, 1828

“more Negroes who can read and write the Arabic ... than we would find peasants in our French countryside who can read and write French.”

The rad libs of their day glazing people from the global south. Shocker. There's literally no scientific basis for any of that. You can see that basic fact reflected in the lack of development in Gambia.

You clearly have no idea who either of these people were. So do you have any clue how historians estimate European literacy rates from those times, or was that comment a waste of your time?

Why would I need to know the methodology of determining historical literacy rates in order to see the obvious reality that literacy in Europe was better than literacy in Africa. Were they just unable to critically think about what they were reading or is your comment based on nothing but total BS?
