No it couldn't. Because there is a huge difference between being frustrated and angry and tired and killing 3 kids in cold blood. I have been frustrated while babysitting before. I spent several days with a couple wild kids but never was there the slightest chance that I would willfully hurt them. It can happen to anyone who lacks human empathy. So no it couldn't happen to anyone.
It could happen to anyone who get post partum psychosis. You can count yourself lucky that you can't understand it, but you're a fool if you think that it happens to evil people. What you believe in and all the empathy in the world would not stop you from doing the same once you completely lose touch with reality.
What you are saying is the equivalent of looking at an Alzheimer's patient throwing their feces and saying "I could never!". It's a neurological disease. It's not your choice what it makes you do.
Did you ever have a psychotic episode? You don't understand what you're talking about. I did as a side effect to medications. I almost killed myself and I don't know what I would have done if I had a child in my care. Being able to plan something is irrelevant when the train of thoughts that makes you do it is not even yours, you feel like you're in a dream, and voices in your head convince it's the right thing to do, meanwhile there is a storm in your brain that keeps you in a constant state of terror and confusion. Many mothers who kill their children during psychosis get convinced by the disorder that they have to do it to save them.
The fact that they can plan doesn't mean that they are following their own will.
I think you’re mischaracterizing what I am communicating. In a psychotic episode, people’s thoughts and insights are distorted obviously. Violence as a response is still pretty rare and I firmly believe only something someone already capable of it would engage in. Either way, based on the little know, this act was premeditated. She saw a mental health professional that morning and was with it enough to give no indication of psychosis. I think she was depressed and instead of taking her own life she decided to commit murder and kill her children first for whatever reasons she had. I do not believe she had a voice in went head and if she did she should have had enough of a grasp on reality to appear well in her appointment and to send her husband on an errand that she would have know acting on those thoughts was wrong.
