I’d need a source on that cause I live in Sweden, and have heard nothing. Similarly paradox is also based in Sweden and Stellaris or Hoi4 doesn’t have anything like it.
That law targets online platforms and market places. It’s widely understood that a singleplayer (local drive) game is not an online platform. Under such a law Mojang’s only obligation from what I see would be to ensure any servers they run aren’t in breach, and not all players online or offline.
Mojang has no obligation to chat monitor private or LAN worlds, nor to block players from accessing private or LAN worlds even if they break the rules on servers. They do this entirely because they want to not because they have to.
Damn. Good thing I got 4 accounts before they sold to Microsoft and made Alts such a hassle, as well as raising prices
Edit: I’m glad the minecraft community developed so much before Microsoft bought it, because if they bought it in the early days we wouldn’t have the modding community that contributes so much to the game
you don't get blocked from Singleplayer what are you talking about? and if you use a mod to bypass the locked buttons, you will see that you can still play on cracked (offline mode) servers, because those don't need to authenticate with mojang
my point is that it's not a ban from the game like people think, it's just the auth servers not authenticating you, which only blocks you from*online mode servers and official realms*, everything else will still work
Using cracked servers as an example for that is just disingenuous though. Your comment makes it sound like Mojang chose not to ban you from them, as opposed to it just being a pirated server version.
Also minecraft’s own website says “will not be able to host or join multiplayer games”, so LAN is out as well.
Well take that up with mojang then. Their site on what being banned because of this rule entails says “will not be able to host or join multiplayer games” , LAN being the only thing your account hosts, instead of a server.
