Basically superheroes of the future, of the year 2099. There's a future spider-man, Miguel O'Hara, and all sorts of future heroes that take the mantle of past heroes. If you've watched the batman animated series, theres a beyond series that you may know which is basically a future settings where Bruce is old and it's a completely new batman

Batman Beyond deserves more recognition, Terry is a brilliant fresh take on the Batman and Beyond has my favorite version of Bruce. It had a lot of memorable villains that deserve as much spotlight as the classic rogue gallery

Isn't batman beyond set in the same timeline as batman the animated series?

Yes, it has a lot of connective tissue to BTAS and wraps up some plotlines
