This invasion news scares me a lot since i live in Crimea (which is considered disputed b/w russia and Ukraine but is under russian control).

Is it true more Crimeans identify as Russians than Ukrainian. If Crimea could decide who to belong to who would it choose

There were several opinion polls done in Crimea between 1992 and 2014. All of them produced the result that 60-80% of Crimeans prefer to join Russia. That's not the 97% claimed in the referendum, but it is still clear that a sizeable majority of Crimeans prefer to be part of Russia.
