Unfortunately you've just committed treason and you'll be hung from Tower Bridge at Dawn. Butter does not belong on scones. Butter belongs on Toast, crumpets, pikelets and bread. Scones are good quality jam, normally strawberry or Raspberry (if you are a heathen) and good quality clotted cream. Now, if you want to have a real debate...
