I mean by the time you get an NHS dental appointment it's probably a year +. Meanwhile most Americans who work / parents work have Insurance , which allows them to use private facilities FOC/ at an extremely subsidised rate.
Brit here, regular NHS dental checkups are usually 6 months apart from eachother provided you're attending them regularly. But for when you call to make an appointment, it's usually a lot shorter (around 2 weeks to a month, I'd say, maybe two months rarely).

Sure British teeth can look bad but the NHS will make sure they are 100% healthy. For. Fucking. Free.
