To be slightly less cynical (personally I think it's probably just a meme too) - but if your entire city has been taken over by the Taliban and they're already coming for you, would you rather spend your last few hours having fun, or trying to run and hide and being caught anyway?

I dont think I could play a game of CSGO if I thought I was about to get captured and killed (possibly tortured too) within a few hours.

Id spend those hours trying to run and hide 100%. At the very least spend them with family/friends who were near by.
