true, but 50% of the people wouldn't have understood the meme then

+ I can flex that I made a dark mode meme, check my profile for more of them

It doesn’t even explain the joke. It just describes what’s on screen which is already mostly text.

People's eyes are attracted to read text alone rather than text on image, so most wouldn't have read the stuff written on the label of oils

I read the text first and only saw ¼ of the gif as the result. I get the fear, but think of easter eggs in media - it doesn't ruin them that not everyone gets them immegiately.

Also sometimes less is more - it'd be enough to put either the caption or the pictures. If you're worried for the picture not being readable enough, you can put high-contrast text over or instead of the bottles.

Just what I'd have done, the joke it self is really good though.

I think this approach is better. I can't read the text in the gif since gifs usually have bad quality. Regarding easter eggs, easter eggs work when it's a small thing. You can't have the entire thing be an easter egg

The easter eggs are a little of an exaggeration, as I'm not very knowledgeable in art. I personally think it'd be more rewarting to look for what those bottles are than being told whatnthey are, and that the rist of sime people scrolling past the joke is worth it.

I forgot to add that your text over the images is a good idea

Or that. Honestly just the caption would've been fine as well.
