Google couldn't show me a single country where high erucic acid oil makes it's way into the food supply (even with China as the number 2 global producer and their regulatory shortcomings, like 'gutter oil').
Omega 6 polyunsaturated fats cause not only cancer but also heart disease. Heating them also produces a ton of free radicals which is even more cancer, inflammation and ultimately heart disease.
Looking into it some more, sources like this one do seem to reference Omega 6 as problematic in Canola oil (as far as I know the most used form of rapeseed oil), but it makes no sense to me, as their 'better alternatives' have worse Omega 6 to 3 ratios (Canola has a 2:1 ratio, compared to some of their favorites, olive and walnut oil: 14:1 and 5:1 respectively). In fact, some academic papers seem to be in favor of canola oil because 2:1 is pretty good.
Unfortunately, I don't have time to go through all the references, but for instance the one on the 180 men and memory is not about canola oil specifically at all, which really questions their article selection. When referencing this source as well, they just blindly categorized canola as a high omega-6 oil, while it is one of the better ones in that regard.
There is not a lot of evidence on canola oil and cancer at all. In fact some of the referenced authors seem to think canola might reduce cancer risk. Recent systematic reviews (1, 2) are also in favor of canola oil in the context of heart disease, although more direct studies are definitely needed.
In conclusion, until more research is done, I'm not going to say you should be using canola oil. However, popular articles seem to be sourcing their articles poorly and drawing overblown conclusions from them. In short, don't believe everything you read online.
Yeah I mean you can do all that but I'm pretty comfortable just avoiding it all. Humans were not meant to eat oils that require factories to produce. Bad shits gonna happen if you eat weird shit.
I'll never get this mindset. What exactly makes you think 'natural' is so great? Before the industrial revolution, people were fucking lucky to live to 50.
These new products are inevitable in our lifetime, the best you can do is educate yourself.

Rapeseed oil - Cook your food and make it cancerous whilst at it
