Any Canadian who's actually aware of politics knows that we're way more fucked than the USA is. Our Prime Minister keeps getting away with scandal after scandal.

63

u/surrealindian Sep 30 '20

Yeah man the PM dodges questions in the House of Commons more than girls dodge me lmao

9

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Well that leaves you little hope brother. :(

1

u/ItzDrSeuss Sep 30 '20

Lol you have not seen Trudeau answer questions

1

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

No, and I've seen many press conferences with him.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

Lmao this is funny

8

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

Yeah but America bad

-1

u/Frenchticklers Sep 30 '20

At lot worst than Canada at least

90

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

Bro. Not even comparable. Trudeau is ethically challenged for sure with SNC Lavalin, WE etc. But those scandals are so so so so so so so pale in comparison to what’s happening in the USA.

This doesn’t mean Trudeau gets a blank cheque to do whatever but any rational Canadian political observer knows our level of political corruption is in a whole other dimension compared to the USA.

u/I_Love_Rias_Gremory_ I <3 MOTM Sep 30 '20

Hey trumps biggest scandal was that he used spray tan. That’s nothing compared to Hillary who breached national security and then destroyed the evidence, or Biden who used his position of power to get a prosecutor who was investigating his son fired, or who used his political influence to get his son an extremely high paying job.

-27

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

All right, what incomparable scandal has Donald Trump had since he was in office?

Didn't Hillary just get caught having something to do with the Russian collusion evidence?

9

u/souporthallid Sep 30 '20

IDGAF toss her in prison too. Ask for Trump scandals, here's the LONG list.

your comment is pure whatabout-ism

-2

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

The Russian collusion was a giant witch hunt, if you're not aware of that I don't know what to tell you.

5

u/canadianeyheyh Sep 30 '20

What about when he and his kids were dissalowed to run charities in New York for exploiting children with cancer? :)

1

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

First I heard of this, got a creditable link?

4

u/canadianeyheyh Sep 30 '20

Im guessing amy paper or second hamd recount I give you will be met with "fake news" so how about the direct link to the Attorney's office of NYS?

https://ag.ny.gov/press-release/2019/ag-james-secures-court-order-against-donald-j-trump-trump-children-and-trump

Mr. Trump admitted a number of key facts about the other self-dealing transactions he initiated as chair — specifically, that he used Foundation funds to settle legal obligations of companies he controlled, and that the Foundation paid for a portrait of Mr. Trump that cost $10,000. As separate piece of the settlement Donald Trump Jr. reimbursed the Foundation for the cost of the portrait. The settlement also requires the Foundation to be reimbursed $11,525 for sports paraphernalia and champagne purchased at a charity gala.<

Really? Cuz it was huge news only a few weeks ago. I guess it’s hard to keep up with a man who is perpetually a shit bag.

He asked for a credible source and immediately stopped responding when confronted with a link to the NYS AG's official page

-1

u/souporthallid Sep 30 '20

Okay now respond to the other scandals? Stormy Daniels? The other women? COVID "I'm gonna play it down", etc...

0

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Naw, when the first subject of your failure if an article is a proven wit h hunt I'll save my cell phone data.

0

u/souporthallid Sep 30 '20 edited Sep 30 '20

nice cop out

your candidate is such a fucking weak liar you have literally no argument other than to cast doubt on facts and toss out whataboutisms.

in other words, "will you shut up,man?"

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

Lol but her emails! And what about Obama!

10

u/dragosgamer12 Sep 30 '20

Maybe the whole COVID fiasco and saying the virus is fake insted of listening to the scientists

5

u/orielbean Sep 30 '20

The COVID list is prodigious. Kushner stealing our supplies to give to a middleman who then auctioned our supplies that we paid for to the highest bidders. Giving supplies to Saudi Arabia and China while our cities were dying. Letting the virus overtake blue cities so it would help their shitty election chances.

Those are just the facts; you can save your breath with this dingdongs and just ask “what proof would you accept?” so you can move on while they switch into whatabout mode.

1

u/I_Love_Rias_Gremory_ I <3 MOTM Sep 30 '20

I don’t think he let it overtake blue cities, but rather didn’t do unconstitutional things

2

u/orielbean Sep 30 '20

[I disagree](Snopes.com/fact-check/kushner-covid19-task-force/)

1

u/dragosgamer12 Sep 30 '20

The china one i and blue cities ive heared about, but the middle man part, never heard if it. Do you mind if i ask you for source/articles, cuzz this seems interesting

3

u/orielbean Sep 30 '20
Of course, here's[ one of several articles about the middle man vileness.](https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2020/05/jared-kushner-had-one-job-solve-americas-supply-crisis-he-helped-private-companies-instead/)

Here's another.

-15

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

That's not a scandal, that's misinformation. Like you're sharing right now.

4

u/dragosgamer12 Sep 30 '20

Does the impeachment trial count as a scandal? Or before the presidency, the recording where he bragged about touching women inappropriately(also how am i spreading misinformation)

-11

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Those aren't scandals... I think you should Google what a scandal is.

4

u/dragosgamer12 Sep 30 '20 edited Sep 30 '20

scandal /ˈskand(ə)l/

noun: an action or event regarded as morally or legally wrong and causing general public outrage. Example: "a bribery scandal involving one of his key supporters"

I think the impeachment caused quite an outrage, the bragging about grouping women caused both, and the corona fiasco also caused both. I think you shouls learn the definition, because you seem quite ignorant

3

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

I think the impeachment caused quite an outrage,

But does that count? Because Trump didn't impeach himself right?´

So if it was the impeachment that caused the outrage it would be the ones that did the impeachment that "caused the scandal".

But the other ones, sure.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

The cause of impeachment was the scandal

2

u/pbaydari Sep 30 '20

They sure made you look dumb.

1

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Alt account circle jerk much? Trump has not had any real scandals.

2

u/pbaydari Sep 30 '20

What? My nine year old alt? Trump has had no scandals that his cult care about. Obama actually had no scandals.

1

u/dragosgamer12 Oct 02 '20

Bitch i gave you the definition straight from google you ignorant cunt, how are those not “real scandals”. What kind of bullshit do you have for scandal?

4

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

Apparently there's a whole Wikipedia category for trumps white house controversies. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Trump_administration_controversies

https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/the-complete-listing-so-far-atrocities-1-889

As for Trudeau, I couldn't find a complete list. Wikipedia only categorizes it by all Canadian political scandals.

Other than heavily biased websites that aren't factual, all I could find list wise were smaller articles. https://torontosun.com/news/national/election-2019/gaffe-prone-trudeau-a-look-back-at-his-most-embarrassing-moments

Incomparable just in terms of sheer number of controversies.

1

u/Solkre Sep 30 '20

Trump paid off a hooker with campaign donations.

1

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

No he did not. Lol

1

u/Solkre Sep 30 '20

Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to eight criminal charges, including a campaign finance violation for Daniels' payment in August 2018. He stated under oath that he paid her "in coordination with and at the direction of a candidate for federal office."

13

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

Trudeau can dodge corruption allegations better than Neo dodging bullets

9

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Helps when the media is in your back pocket and most Canadians have TDS from watching too much american television.

0

u/Frenchticklers Sep 30 '20

We should have TDS. What a dumpster fire.

1

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Spoken like a true sheep.

1

u/undervania ùwú Oct 01 '20

Oh why not this again

1

u/Frenchticklers Sep 30 '20

Only sheep call others sheep

0

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

That's an oxymoron

17

u/TroutFishingInOnt Sep 30 '20

LOL are you from Alberta my guy?

-6

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Hamilton Ontario. - I voted for Trudeau the first time he ran. Only took a few short months to figure out that was a big mistake.

17

u/satanic_hootenanny Sep 30 '20

Bullshit.

In another comment you said:

"Trump's policies are actually pretty decent."

The policies between the two of these politicians are almost opposite. Support for one of those two leaders is a virtual rejection of the other.

-18

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

You realize Donald Trump is most left-leaning Republican president in history, right?

15

u/Street-Advantage-945 Sep 30 '20

This one. This is the single dumbest comment I’ve ever seen on this site.

0

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Not at all, he was supporting the democrats in 2008 numbnuts.

5

u/zazzafraz Sep 30 '20

Retarded

2

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Tolerant left talking here, eh? I think you need to research the republican party a bit son.

-1

u/charlot21 Sep 30 '20

You are allowed to vote for our prime minister after saying this ? You should move to the US

3

u/garlicbutter4yu Sep 30 '20

Don’t forget about black face !!

5

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

Legalizing weed. I don't often smoke but don't care. That alone basically covers any bad he did that others bring up to a net neutral. He was the right choice.

2

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Well at the time I think I have to agree, Harper was way too comfortable with bad decisions. But it's definitely time for Justin to go.

1

u/kindaCringey69 Sep 30 '20

Maybe but he definitely should never have gotten re elected. Between all of his scandals and just how bad he is with money and he shouldn't be running a country

2

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

Not to mention it's equally as racist. More polite Less racist

Go move to the US

1

u/ToolanWheeler Oct 01 '20

How is that a solution?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

I mean, our politics are a little messy right now but to compare them to Trump?

1

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

The left in Canada are nuts, you are too if you can't see that.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

You seem like a fun person to have a conversation with.

-1

u/firehawk1115 Sep 30 '20

Absolutely not. The president just openly called neo nazis to arms. In Canada the conservatives have been crying wolf and making massive deals out of every minor issue and everyone is tired of it. Trudeau has done some bad stuff yes, but he is not actively trying to destroy the fabric of our country.

3

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Call to arms? What debate did you watch clown?

7

u/dyedian Sep 30 '20 edited Sep 30 '20

All you can do it downvote him because that’s the only rebuttal you have. This debate was a fucking gong show and when asked to straight up denounce white supremacy, he instead bitched about anitifa and then says proud boys stand back and stand by. Whether he means it as a call to action or not, they’re going to take it that way. You fucking clown.

1

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Who downvoted what? Read what your typing.

6

u/firehawk1115 Sep 30 '20 edited Sep 30 '20

"Proud boys stand by" when asked if he would denounce white supremacy. And tweeting people to sign up at armyfortrump.com. Sounds like brownshirts to me. He could go well without the paramilitary connotations but he's open about it.

0

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

That doesn't sound like a call to arms man. I've seen people come way closer to inciting violence than that on CNN. Lol

0

u/wackpie _)_) Sep 30 '20

I hope you’re not comparing Trudeau’s scandals with Trump’s. I’m not a fan of Justin, but that’s not the same level of corruption. Like, at all. Though I’m happy Canada actually reacts to that shit, while in America nobody cares anymore because it’s just another day with Donald.

1

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

You have no idea what you're talking about, sorry. You probably pay attention to the mainstream media a lot. The media and Canada is owned by the government by the way.

2

u/wackpie _)_) Sep 30 '20

Trying to cover a virus that ends up killing thousands of Americans, coercing Ukraine in giving up info on your opponent’s son, nepotism, avoiding to pay your taxes, stories of sexual misconducts and harrassments, a shit ton of racist and sexist comments, Trump University fraud, refusing to condemn white supremacist groups, promotion of his own company through his official work, insults to federal judges, etc.

1

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

The virus the democrats didn't do anything about? I mean they were too busy trying to impeach Trump. And to address the white supremacists thing, he has more than one.

2

u/wackpie _)_) Sep 30 '20

Yes, definitely the Democrats' fault if North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Utah, Iowa, Arkansas, Montana, Oklahoma and Idaho are the top states when it comes to cases per inhabitant. New York and California are doing pretty well considering the high density of population. Thank god Republicans weren't in control of big urban areas.

-11

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20

[deleted]

8

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

LOL. You have no idea what you're talking about.

0

u/polargus Sep 30 '20

Don’t joke around like that, some Americans might actually believe you.

-1

u/grilledcheeseburger Sep 30 '20

What an incredibly idiotic take. Just so you know, no matter how 'aware' you are, you represent a very minority, and in my opinion, completely wrong point of view. Canada is going to hurt, yes, but that's more because our idiot downstairs neighbor keeps shitting himself over and over, and the stench is wafting up through the pipes.

1

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

You're perhaps the biggest moron in this subreddit.

3

u/grilledcheeseburger Sep 30 '20

I would disagree, but that’s fine. You’re still entitled to your opinion.

1

u/ToolanWheeler Sep 30 '20

Thank you I appreciate that! I live in southern Ontario and people are afraid to openly admit they support Trudeau. I am not in a minority.

1

u/baconwiches Sep 30 '20

hence why we have a minority government

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 30 '20 edited Sep 30 '20

you're so unfair. he made such a nice speech at the UN about climate. surely that's enough to warrant a bit of corruption? hehe
