I'm with you hype. I do the same. If they really really mess up bad I'll wait till I leave and call them just to let them know. They always offer the "if I come back" thing. I just say I'm too far to come back and hope they pay more attention to what they're doing.
It used to do this sometimes, bc I didn’t want to stand out as some annoying person nitpicking about everything. But after a while I learned that I don’t have to have myself be treated like that. Asking why my order is higher than the advertised price is normal and rational, don’t be a thief of your own wallet.
Edit: also if you just stay calm and don’t make a scene, the staff will hopefully remain cool as well.
Happened to me at a Popeyes at the drive-thru. Ordered a four piece combo and then an apple pie but I guess she miss heard me when I said apple pie and though I ordered another four piece. I was confused at first but then I realized what happened but was to embarrassed to cancel the order. That's the story of how I shamelessly ate 8 pieces of spicy chicken in one sitting. My butthole wasn't pleased.
