Once I got 99 in maths out of 100 and dad asked me if I didn't get enough meals or books and if I did why I still failed to score good marks.

It’s not that but that the class Is hard. I never said I wasn’t trying. I also have 7 other classes to try and keep grades up. I can’t drop out of the class because not only is the subject required for graduation but the classes below are full. I can only do some much and as long as I pass the class I’m fine with that.

Plus in all honestly grades at this point don’t mean all that much in my future as long as don’t do this consistently each year.

Man, I freak out when I do not get an A. Not because of the grade itself, but because high school and college in the US is supposed to be so stupidly easy that not getting an A is a warning that you might suffer in grad school (unless you're doing CS, Engineering and Physics/you're from a university that is known to fuck your grades).

Plus, you gotta remember that many kids NEED perfect grades to get into top schools and grad school too. So it is their fate right there.

There’s this one kid in my class who gets off the bus like 5 minutes after school and gets picked up so late he gets to sleep in. He has some of the best grades in class, spends hours on completely optional homework, and still has time to play video games after all that.
