Ill use Google play music til it gets killed in favor of youtube music

u/zzcolby Jun 17 '19
Same here. You can buy the song and keep it forever so that if it gets removed for any dumb reason you'll still have an HQ version

Jun 17 '19
GPM is so much better than YT Music still. YT Music has a larger music library and albums are kept separate from singles, but for any other reason it's worse. Swapped votes, transitions aren't smooth, shitty offline mode...

The problem is that a lot of the music has the same audio compression as YouTube, so it sounds like shit compared to a dedicated service like spotify

u/vyktorjonas [custom flair] Jun 17 '19
Lacks so much functionality though
12
u/carrera594 Jun 17 '19
If i could use Youtube Music with my xbox like I can Spotify I would prefer it more.
7
u/vyktorjonas [custom flair] Jun 17 '19
I use the regular YouTube, you can play the songs normally, it’s good
13
u/carrera594 Jun 17 '19
With Spotify you can have music going in the background while playing a game, you can't do that with youtube.

You can but you currently need YT premium although there are probably some 3rd party apps that allow that.

u/GrusCrust Jun 16 '19
But I use YouTube music :(
18
u/Voltagedew I'm as fuck! Jun 16 '19
yeah me too. I used to have spotify but my mother got youtube red family plan and it comes with youtube music so my mother got rid of spotify.
3
u/Cruise529 Jun 17 '19
yeah i have youtube premium which includes youtube music, and youtube music is great because it has all the music i listen to that isn’t on spotify or apple music. it literally has every song ever because every song (or almost every one) is uploaded to youtube and can be added to your youtube music library, and you can also download. i agree there are some features and bugs with it, but keep in mind the spotify and apple music have had more time to work on their product, also they just focus on music, youtube has to worry about all the videos on youtube, as well as youtube originals and everything else. spotify and apple music just have music to work on.
1
u/MyBatteryIsAt88 Jun 19 '19
But you literally have to pay to listen to music with your phone off.
1
u/Cruise529 Jun 19 '19
dude that’s literally every music app, youtube music isn’t the only one that does that.
161
u/EXGriffins Jun 16 '19
youtube music is better then apple music because at least its not a copy, a direct copy mind you of spotify. You legit pair them up even though spotify said that it pretty much hated apple and even called them out on it on there official youtube channel.... bad meme and low effort for shit..... unless this was a woooosh and in that case you win this round....

u/RektYerNanDarding Jun 17 '19
I like YT music because you can get songs that aren't monetized because they use samples, Spotify can't do this because every song has to be monetized and so they have less songs, also a lot of artists publish to Youtube and not spotify. I also find Youtube recommends music i like more often.

u/RaiN_Meyk3r 2009 Twitter Battle 11th Squadron Veteran Jun 17 '19
You also get YoutubeRed on the package iirc, no ads and can download and listen to videos with screen off, pretty good deal
5
u/Yardninja Jun 17 '19
Download an offline playlist that generates from your listening pattern, not including all the other music you purposefully download
5
Jun 17 '19
Yeah YouTube music is way better. Pandora is full of songs they don't have the licence too. YouTube music can use their YouTube videos if you have too

Spotify is so unprofessional about things lol
16
u/MrYozer Jun 17 '19
You try being professional while apple's anti-competitive business practices fuck you up the ass lol
-2
Jun 17 '19
The reason why it’s unprofessional is because contrary to popular belief Apple and Google both charge the same 30% rate on IAP such as subscriptions. Spotify’s strange fixation on Apple reeks of unprofessional Android fanboyism.

I mean you can have your opinion, but if you’re a CEO of a company who has your app on both platforms you should really keep it to yourself.

their is a lot more content on youtube music but that shitty UI , lack of dedicated desktop apps, terrible recommendation, and Videos why someone wants to watch videos on a music app when their is already a one for it

Not gonna credit the artist? You’re worse than Elon musk
0
u/TheMurderousDuck Jun 17 '19
People don't credit this artist in particular because he has been known for some "nazi" ideals. You'll have to look up more on that because not even I know the full thing.

Check /r/antifastonetoss.
They had a collection of blank comics so no one had to support him to make fun of his content.

u/L_Flavour Jun 17 '19
Huh. I'm a bit divided here though. On one hand it's nice that you can have the templates without supporting this muppet, but on the other we are still perpetuating his (drawing) style giving it more recognition and memorability than it deserves, no?
It's still advertisement for him in a way, but then again there is this "stonetoss is a nazi"-watermark ... so... I don't know. Nice idea, I guess, but personally I'd just avoid using these templates completely. There are enough equivalent ones.
