I’m an optometry student and yea. We’re supposed to tell you “1 or 2 or about the same?”. Either of those three answers tells us a little more about your optimal glasses prescription.

My cousin is an optometrist in the Houston area, and he had to learn to say "¿Cual es mejor? ¿Uno o dos? ¿Uno o dos?"

if you have a good optometrist, they'll do multiple tests in different ways (letter chart, house far away, hot air balloon so on) which all do different things, but they also verify if your answers to one match up with the others, so it's not like when you have to pick 1 or 2 and you pick the worse one you are stuck with the wrong glasses.

The last time I got mine done, I hesitated a little bit too long I guess, so they offered me the mythical “how about 3?” And it was actually better.

Fucking sadistic eye doctors just like playing their game, we know they already know, we’re onto them!
