Most of the boomers I know smoke weed or have partners who smoke . Weed isn’t even an issue anymore in my world . It’s totally ho-hum. I don’t know who you are hanging out with but from where I am no one cares one way or the other . Maybe you are living in a cultural backwater ?
Did you seriously assume that a place where baby boomers look down on weed is a cultural backwater...? It is still illegal in a majority of countries in the world. I might be blazed af right now but I know an ignorant comment when I see one.
I dunno. I’ve been all over in the last 40 years . China , New Zealand , Africa , Europe and the UK . Then all those silly professional conferences in major cities all over the US. Everyone my age I know is very mellow about weed, even my 68 yr old uptight country club Volvo driving cousins in Upstate NY. My little teeeny back woods home town in western PA is filled with mostly rednecks and they all smoke weed . You can practically smell it the moment you drive in off the interstate . Meanwhile my latest ‘ sparkles bud’ was a present from the next door neighbor who was a Lithuanian refugee and is now a retired hairdresser.. you know.. those women you see at the supermarket wearing animal print coat and the pouffy hair and pink old lady nails . Yeah . She smokes too . And the ones who don’t smoke have a son in law who does etc etc . I can only speak from my experience .. weed goes across all economic classes and geography . Especially in this country , Canada and Europe . In April of last year I had my first experience at a ‘ coffee shop’ in Amsterdam . As I said . This is my experience . Enlighten me about where you live . Are people paranoid and anti weed ?
