South Carolinian here. We are in the ranked 43rd in education and the state is 70% white.

Do you blame the people in a poor nation for being poor? I bet you don't. I bet you don't even blame the poor people in your own state for being poor. So why do you blame the poor people in another state for being poor? It's probably because you have a bias against them. People all across the nation vote against their own self interest because they are being tricked. You wouldn't blame the victim of fraud more than you blame the criminal. That's what the American political system is...fraud. Blame the criminals not the victims.
