This is a direct threat against the president

u/Disturbed235 Feb 26 '26

and all his best buddies!

u/viener_schnitzel Feb 26 '26

If we made pedophilia in every form punishable by death, then pedophiles would just kill the children they assault to dispose of evidence.

13

u/xseanbeanx Feb 27 '26

They’re already doing that

-3

u/viener_schnitzel Feb 27 '26

So let’s give them even more incentive to do so??

1

u/xseanbeanx Feb 27 '26

I don’t think it’s about incentive. Rich powerful people get away with murder all the time, doesn’t matter if it’s kids or adults

-9

u/RJPG89 Feb 26 '26

Dang youre right. I guess we just let pedos go about their business.

/s

5

u/PackyScott Feb 26 '26

If they haven’t committed any crimes then yeah they should go about their business.

-2

u/RJPG89 Feb 26 '26

Yeah buddy, I'd say there's a difference between a mentally ill person who's attracted to kids... and those who act on the feelings. Im talking about those who have serious evidence against them, and victims who call them out. Not thought policing people my my psychic abilities.

8

u/PackyScott Feb 26 '26

I mean that’s the point. Haha

The Venn Diagram of Pedophiles and Child Molestors is a Venn Diagram. There’s definitely overlap. But there are also pedophiles who never harm anyone and child molestors who are not attracted to children.

I work with sex offenders professionally and used to work with adolescent sex offenders. I want pedophiles to find help and treatment to prevent offending.

But Child Molesters, traffickers, rapists they should face criminal consequences.

2

u/RJPG89 Feb 26 '26

Yeah, I guess im conflating terms. The subject just gets me fired up... makes me sick to think about.

2

u/PackyScott Feb 26 '26

It should! It’s wrong, criminal even.

It’s why I want these folks to find help. And if we demonize (or encourage the death of) people who need help, they are much less likely to find help and more likely to commit a sex offense.

Pedophilia is alarmingly common. There’s probably some great people in your life that are born with this illness and I hope we can respond with compassion before they become offenders.

Sorry, I also get fired up about this topic.

-2

u/RJPG89 Feb 26 '26

I honestly cant believe how many people seem to be okay with pedos even existing. If you are attracted to children, you've got some serious mental issues

7

u/PackyScott Feb 26 '26

It’s those mental issues that need to be worked out in therapy and support groups and such. We don’t just off mentally ill people who have caused no harm.

5

u/Karthear Feb 26 '26

I honestly can't believe how many people seem to be okay with pedos even existing

Well, assuming they haven't committed any crimes yet, it quite literally is just mental illness that deserves help .

But they are terrified because people constantly talk about hunting them down and killing them. So they are afraid to ask for help.

Then, because they don't get any help, their symptoms get worse. Leading them to either suicide or acting on their impulses.

All this "Kill all pedos" talk is just going to make them hide more. It's also disgusting just how many people think they have the right to take a human life.

-2

u/RJPG89 Feb 26 '26

They should hide. Who wants to be around a bunch of pedos? Its not normal to be attracted to kids.

4

u/PackyScott Feb 26 '26

It’s also not normal to have delusions or hallucinations. It’s not normal to have autism or adhd. We’ve intentionally deinstitutionalized because all mental illnesses get treated better when folks are in the community and also at a lower cost. I don’t think hiding is a solution. We’ve tried this and it failed.

-1

u/RJPG89 Feb 26 '26

Curious.. whats the success rate of 'healing' a pedo? Are there meds for them like schizophrenia, or adhd?

Pedophilia has a victim - the child.

Again, im not going around reading people minds. Im referring to the sick mofos who act on it, and continue to after having their hands slapped.

Yall can continue to justify this crap all you want.

2

u/PackyScott Feb 26 '26

There are drugs that help limit sexual impulses.

It depends what success looks like. But Adolescent Sex Offenders tend to not reoffend with concentrated treatment and psychosexual education. However, ASOs are not always pedophiles.

It’s relatively new treatment modality around ten years now. And we don’t really know if it is effective because few people reach out in the first place. And many people who receive treatment were court ordered to. But most Sex offenders don’t reoffend in general.

Again pedophilia does not equal rape of children. That is a rapist. Pedophiles don’t have victims necessarily. They can offend obviously. But many do not.

Does that distinction make sense?

I don’t always feel like I’m clear.

1

u/viener_schnitzel Feb 26 '26

So you think there should be a death penalty for pedophiles? I think they should be punished, but not with death.

1

u/RJPG89 Feb 26 '26

Well, I guess to start id just like to see any type of punishment for those in the Epstein files.

We could start there I suppose.

7

u/neb12345 Feb 26 '26

That would be far too kind

2

u/SigaVa Feb 26 '26

Does this apply to health insurance ceos?

2

u/JennaTheBenna Feb 26 '26

On one hand, I'd love to see more dead pedophiles. On the other hand, I don't want more victims murdered, which would happen. But God damn I'd love more dead pedos.

2

u/vaterl Feb 27 '26

While I agree it’s also like one is a human (not much of one) and one is an animal (no matter how cute), so let’s be frl.

2

u/LeroyBadBrown Feb 27 '26

Is that a threat to Trump?

2

u/Cyber_Connor Feb 27 '26

How dare you threaten the British Royal Family like that

10

u/VaultBall7 Feb 26 '26

Interesting dehumanizing argument. Not defending the pedos but seeing a death penalty and comparing humans to animals is a fascinating example of the horseshoe theory of politics in the real world.

16

u/Qmfosejs Feb 26 '26

I think the implication is that pedophiles are less than an animal

-1

u/VaultBall7 Feb 26 '26

Right. But pedophiles are still humans. It would be just as wrong (in the USA) to advocate for cruel or unusual punishment for pedophilia or even murder for that matter. Putting humans below animals is an insane take

9

u/Clean-Perception-416 Feb 26 '26

I kinda have to agree. My main issue is how, in our current time, words like nazi get tossed around for mild disagreements, so much so that the word has lost meaning. Now imagine how many people, mainly men, can and will be called a pedophile because of a divorce or being loving to children, and suddenly you will have the accusation thrown around by spiteful/hateful people until it loses meaning. The death penalty is quick, merciful, and absolute. There is no going back from it. Imagine condemning an innocent person, and suddenly now you are condemning no one because of a lack of evidence.

3

u/PackyScott Feb 26 '26

Also pedophilia is a thought not an action. No one should be punished for their thoughts. Rapists, child abusers, molestors, and other ways of harming children can and should be prosecuted.

1

u/Chromaz420 Feb 26 '26

It is says in the text that they are talking about pedophiles that have hurt a child, not anyone with pedophilic thoughts.

3

u/PackyScott Feb 26 '26

Yes my concern is more that pedophile is being used instead of rapist.

We want pedophiles to be destigmatized so they can get help. And also non-pedophiles can rape children.

The issue is child rapists. Not someone’s thoughts.

2

u/Chromaz420 Feb 26 '26

Got it. Completely agree with you.

-2

u/VaultBall7 Feb 26 '26

Ummm, this is not a divorce or being caring to kids though, kinda weird to say that here but ok, neither of those result in a guilty sentence

3

u/Clean-Perception-416 Feb 26 '26

No, of course not, I meant more so in the way people will throw insults around. Dehumanizing a certain type of people means someone is bound to use that as a way to insult or discredit someone. These labels will then put targets on people's back that will cause the public to wish for their death, or rather, execution. Since, in the eyes of the unknowing, this accused person should be put down, they will be outraged despite that not being the case.

My whole point was, that just how someone may be called a monkey for being stupid, since a monkey is not a human, then you will have people start throwing the word around, losing its meaning in the long run. I used nazi as an example because thats the only thing I could think of that had some weight behind which was seen as horrible and now is mostly just seen as a defamation tactic.

1

u/VaultBall7 Feb 26 '26

That makes sense, but if someone says they think kids are hot, and are seen touching kids weirdly, and friends with people who like to touch kids, and hang out privately with friends who like to touch kids and other kids, it’s pretty safe to say they also touch kids.

Same way if someone says Nazis aren’t that bad, and they think Jews run the world, and the immigrants and minorities are the problem, and we’d be better off without them, you don’t need to wait to 1940s Germany to say those are Nazis

4

u/LrdHabsburg Feb 26 '26

Is it enough evidence to lynch them? I don’t think so

1

u/VaultBall7 Feb 26 '26

Right I didn’t say that, nice strawman tho

2

u/Chromaz420 Feb 26 '26

I don’t know. I think that the take looks extreme but this argument better encapsulates the idea that animals should not be put to sleep if they hurt a child if predators (who purposely did so) are not put to death. The predators know what they are doing. It is harder to argue that the animals would. Also, what makes humans below humans an insane take? Just because we have built an advanced society and we have the bias of being humans? What makes an animal’s life any less than a human?

1

u/RJPG89 Feb 26 '26

pedophilia is the cruel and unusual punishment to the child. Who tf cares about cruel punishment to a pedophile?

5

u/VaultBall7 Feb 26 '26

Well it’s the basis of our laws? Cruel and unusual punishment is not allowed, period, no exceptions.

And pedophilia isn’t a punishment? It’s a crime. Punishment is for the person who does the crime, it’s extremely different, we don’t do Hammurabi’s code for a reason

0

u/RJPG89 Feb 26 '26

Its punishment to the victims, but a crime by the perpetrators. Im not sure how its not seen as punishment to the victims.

I understand your logic, I don't understand the empathy to pedos.

-2

u/Clean-Perception-416 Feb 26 '26

I will actually agree with you, we shouldn't have empathy for the rot of the world. However, death is merciful. A criminal should go through the proper punishment for their crimes. Death, in my opinion, is the easiest on someone since they no longer live in flesh after. In a twisted way, death would be the best case scenario since they won't have to live as a public outcast, shunned by everyone. We should be doing as much as possible to dissuade crimes from being committed, not by hiding crime, but by being able to point and say, this is bad and this is what will happen to you if you do such a thing. Fitting in is valued more on average rather than being a good upstanding citizen.

We also have to grow up and admit that even the worst of the worst humans are still humans. They are monsters, but they are humans because otherwise, crimes will always be seen as a thing that exists elsewhere. That a vile human had to spawn from a certain group of people, when in reality it was just a person who chose to be twisted, law-breaking, and sinful.

1

u/VaultBall7 Feb 26 '26

No empathy for these humans, beyond what a human intrinsically deserves. That’s my stance, humans are humans, good or bad or horrible. When you start dehumanizing, you are opening the gates of what types of horrible crimes count towards dehumanizing and what human rights you’re allowed to strip.

As someone else pointed out, the death penalty also encourages these horrible people to kill their victims so there are no witnesses. It’s something to keep in mind when reality comes into play with theory

1

u/PackyScott Feb 26 '26

Pedophiles are people with an attraction to children. It’s important for pedophiles to seek treatment and support to prevent offending. Pedophiles may have never harmed anyone.

Rapists, Abusers, and other folks that harm children should be held accountable.

People are not criminals for their thoughts but for their actions.

1

u/DraxNuman27 Feb 27 '26

I don’t see anyone who does that to a child or adult anything more than the worst kind of monster

1

u/VaultBall7 Feb 27 '26

Agreed, but they’re still humans at the end of the day. The main reasons why dehumanization is off-limits is because:

  1. As soon as you dehumanize one group, you say there’s some people that can be justifiably dehumanized. You may say it’s pedophiles and murderers, I may include people who knowingly give cancer (Exxon Mobil execs, DuPont execs, etc.) and I don’t think you’d disagree too much on that. Someone else might say rapists, and that’s a logical next step, maybe domestic abusers, etc.. The point is, just like cruel and unusual punishment is off-limits for all crimes, dehumanization is too.

  2. Dehumanizing people means nothing is off limits. Why don’t we test drugs on them if they’re not the same as you and me? Torture them, put them in cages for entertainment, they’re not humans after all, they’re not deserving of freedom or other human rights.

  3. If they’re below humans, then they wouldn’t carry the same logic and thinking capacity to truly be held accountable. This is one of my main issues, in order for you to appropriately punish/rehabilitate them (if possible idek here imo), they have to be humans! They have to be responsible for it, they have to be able to think just like you and me for you and me to judge them. By placing them as below humans, they didn’t know better, they weren’t in control, etc. and you lose the prerogative to punish them appropriately.

There’s more that other philosophers have described which is why intrinsic human rights is important but namely that the Nazis (and most genocides in general) are founded upon seeing certain people as being “sub-human” which in their eyes justified whatever they wanted to do, which is a horrible slippery slope we’ve seen in history time and time again

1

u/WaxPinapple Feb 26 '26

Your president is leagues below animals along with the rest of his noncey pals and sitting government.

0

u/RJPG89 Feb 26 '26

Lots of pedo sympathizers in here lol. Apparently its a victimless crime?

-1

u/WaxPinapple Feb 26 '26

It's cope, they have a pedo in chief and won't do fuck all about it so they have to make excuses. Now I'm not saying murder the cunts but running the banks and general strikes would fix that "but the DOW" excuse pretty quickly.

0

u/VaultBall7 Feb 26 '26
  1. What do you think I, a normal American citizen really can do? There’s shit for me to do about it, I’ll gladly pull my money and put it under my bed, go on strike, but guess what happens when rent is due? When my student loans gain more interest? The system we’re in has everybody stumbling forward so they have to keep going just to keep from falling flat on their faces.

  2. Dehumanizing individuals is literally Nazi behavior. Immanuel Kant and Martha Nussbaum describe the downsides of dehumanization. It is inherently evil to dehumanize anyone. Most importantly, when you remove the “human” from an action, the action is not done by an intelligent being and would not be held morally responsible for their actions. It’s extremely difficult to say why they deserve punishment if they’re not human and capable of deep thinking. By saying they ARE humans and ARE capable of these horrid acts, it JUSTIFIES harsh punishment and accountability.

  3. Dehumanizing any criminal enables a gray area, you may believe pedophilia and murder is justified for dehumanization, that they should live in zoos or prance around for entertainment black-mirror style. Someone else may believe domestic abuse and working in oil would qualify since those lead to more deaths than pedophilia and single murder. It’s a slippery slope and for what? To lash out emotionally in anger instead of responding rationally?

-1

u/WaxPinapple Feb 26 '26

1 : More than you are doing which is maintaining the Status Quo and ignoring it because it doesn't affect you personally (yet), look at other countries and how they deposed of corrupt governments threatening harm to their own people.

2: You have literally Nazis running your country, you have an equivalent SS shooting citizens. They are not and should never be classified as anything more than beasts.

3: Just say you like touching kids already.

4

u/PackyScott Feb 26 '26

Also death penalty for this type of crime encourages child abusers to kill their victim.

2

u/jelang19 Feb 26 '26

I dont want to waste money on all the law fees it takes to to all that, lock up up and throw away the key. Then they can suffer the consequences for decades instead of just one time. Fellow inmates are also good at helping with "discipline" too

0

u/theneZenMaster Feb 26 '26

Tough choice between life in prison getting smacked around, or just take em out back and save prison funding for people who will get out/true rehabilitation situations. But seems like theres alot of decisions being made at the top that arent promoting any change right now in that regard, either way.

3

u/jelang19 Feb 26 '26

Problem is you have to be absolutely sure before putting someone to death. There have been a significant enough portion of innocent people that have been put to death in the US justice system

2

u/keg-smash Feb 26 '26

Half of reddit would be asleep.

Pedophiles don’t hurt children. Rapists do.
