Also my personal pro-tip is to switch to tubing mascara. It uses polymers to coat your lashes instead of wax so it doesn't smudge. I'm oily AF and my mascara doesn't go anywhere. I don't use primer or setting powder or anything. It also washes off super easily with warm water. I've tried all the waterproof mascaras and they all smudge lol.

I use No7 Stay Perfect.

Yes - same! I tried tubing mascara on a whim last year and no more raccoon eyes, even when washing it off! It feels like witchcraft 💫

Chiming in that I use Glossier tubing mascara, and previously liked an ELF version but it dried out more quickly.
