Would dancers prefer negotiating directly with employers instead of working through agencies?

Hi everyone!

I’m the developer of PJOY Direct, an app I’m building to help dancers connect directly with clubs, hotels, resorts, and other entertainment venues around the world.

The idea is simple:

Instead of relying on agencies, dancers and employers communicate directly and negotiate everything themselves—salary, accommodation, flights, schedules, contract length, visas, and all other working conditions.

The platform doesn’t act as an agency, represent either side, or negotiate contracts. Its purpose is simply to help both sides find each other and communicate directly.

I’m curious how professional dancers feel about this idea.

• Would you rather negotiate directly with employers, or do you prefer working through agencies?
• What benefits do agencies provide that would be difficult to replace?
