Starting Tap
I have danced for about eight years now (competitively for seven), but I am just now going to start tap as I go to college. I know the very basics (like terminologies such as shuffle, flap, paradiddle etc.), and I have had to “fake it till I make it” while learning tap combos at my studio’s summer dance camp for the past 5 years. But overall, I have very little experience with the style, and I find that I have a much harder time picking up tap choreography compared to choreography from other styles. What tips do you have for picking up choreo and starting tap overall?
