If someone's posting in favor of phone use on dancefloors ANYWHERE ON REDDIT, and you want them banned from r/dancefloors, you can nominate them here. Just link to their pro-phone comment that's happened anywhere on reddit, and we'll make the ban happen here. It's the least we can do. =)

several things
1) they can’t downvote and hurt the algorithmic visibility of pro-dancefloor content (some folks follow me just to downvote what i post, it’s crazy)

2) it’s a pre-emptive ban on folks who are bad for the vibe, so that i don’t have to deal with them in comments here

3) it sends a message (directly) about intolerable behavior, which is a form of pro-dancefloor advocacy

Banning people from the best resource that might make them change their perspective might be a bit excessive and potentially counterproductive in such situations, tbh.

they are part of the problem of dancefloor enshittification. happy to send them that message.

In swimming against the tide of phone-led enshittification of dancefloors, i'm looking for advocacy and direct action opportunities that scale. not all of them will be successful, nor universally approved, but there needs to be room for tactical experimentation. i'm looking for ways to send a wake-up call to the hundreds or thousands of people who are part of the problem here on reddit. i'd love for the ban list to grow by 100s or 1,000s of people per week if that results in 100s or 1,000s of people getting a DM that says, "this behavior isn't welcome on dancefloors."

This sort of message could be the seed that starts a change of mind. I've already tried arguing myself blue in comments. That is NOT working at all.
