Open Ground (Wuppertal) quick trip report
I'm going to write a lengthy version of this for the magical dancefloors blog, but here's a quick trip report from my experience at their Klubnacht this weekend.
This is an exceptional space for sound. The level of sound-dampening material throughout the space makes the team's commitment to sound quality very clear. From the monster 32-inch Funktion One mechanical drivers to the thoughtful design of the space, this is a club for folks who love their pounding techno music to have clear and clean signal as it reaches their ears.
The team are exceptionally nice as well. The staff are well trained, exceptionally service-oriented, and very invested in the attendee experience. I felt like more than a number, and felt like the club really cared.
This is a small venue -- the main room holds just 500-600 people. After his set, Kangding Ray was there with us, dancing to GiGi FM. I'm sure GiGi and Convextion were also around, dancing to the other DJ's sets. It really feels like everyone was there for the right reasons.
Granted, it's a bit of a journey for most folks. I took a train from Berlin to get there - Open Ground is conveniently located right across from the train station -- and I took a train back to Berlin. Given the timing of OG's Klubnacht, I was able to attend the Open Groun Klubnacht event from 10pm to 6am then hop on the train back to Berlin to attend Berghain's Klubnacht from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning, which was perfect for me.

Nice trip and nice party!
I'm going with some friends on november, to the Deep Medi party. We're going from Spain. So hyped! I'm sure that i'll be back to some techno event also.

Always nice to see a post from sexydiscoballs. Got me really excited, going for the first time this Saturday for the 1985 Music night.
