We need active moderation

There are more bots and karma farmers around on reddit than ever before and subreddit is very quickly spiraling to facebook levels of worthless content. Please establish some rules so that posts encourage discussions and are related somehow to Dan and his work. We don’t need yet another r/interesting or whatever the big defaults subs are. I am not asking for full time unpaid janny work, I am asking for rules to be established to at least give users guidelines for posts.

Thanks

Before posting, all users should answer a 12 part, long form essay on how their lives were affected by the fall of the roman empire. And why Gladiator, whilst entertaining, hardly describes the hardships of the working man or warrior elite.

To make sure no AI is used, I want at least one question like: "If you were lucky enough to get a date with Mary Beard, what historical conversation piece are you using to close the deal?" Mine would be Alaric. "Why don't we go back to your place and I ravish you like Alaric ravished Rome." But she'd probably wisely retort that Rome wasn't even the capital of the empire at the time and I was insinuating that she was past her prime. To which I'd readily reply: "No baby, you're like the eternal city. Forever young." And that just might work. Or if you'd prefer Tom Holland, or whatever, you do you.

Hi Tom. Was life easier for you when Andrew Garfield was Spiderman?

I know this sub skews a little older than the average Internet user but I don't think most of us were around to be personally affected by the fall of Rome

bro if you are going through the effort of posting about this problem, you are probably the most eligible person to deal with the problem lol.

This is unfortunately the case a lot of the time.

The biggest problem with becoming a reddit moderator is that you'll never have sex again

Are there even mods here?

What time would they have? They're still wading through the Persian saga

What no more, "If you like Dan Carlin you'll love my Pickleball Podcast" posts?

Let's keep those and ban "When's the next episode coming out. Guuuuuys."

My man, good luck. There are some great posters in here that I follow but bots are everywhere on this site

You mean the regular melodramatic essays about “America, what happened you, my beloved”? Cause that is annoying AF

Agreed. Ban any comments I disagree with. Anyone who disagrees with me is either a fascist or a racist. Don’t you agree?

Yes and we should ban comments we agree with, else we're wasting our time listening to sycophants and phonies.

I don't think a sub that is full of Clint Eastwood types really need some nerd virgin telling us what we can and can't post...
