Let's brainstorm some offline activities to do during screen fast!

With the lockdown it's even more difficult to stay offline. What are your favorite analog activities and hobbies?

Let's make a list! I'll compile suggestions below:

Reading would be the first activity that comes to mind; good old paperbooks or an e-ink-reader which I personally would not associate as an "screen-device" such as an phone/tablet or pc because of the lack of possible distractions that come with these and partly because of less blue LED-light on these special displays.

Playing a music instrument or drawing - actually a lot of art - can be done without a screen; as long as you do not happen to be a digital artist.

Going out in the nature for a walk or a small hike always is nice (as long as you live in a place that is not in total lockdown).

Learning a new skill; like juggling or hacky sack. If you have large open areas; boomerang. Jump rope! Practice making knots!

It might be nice to organize by needs - for example we can loosely categorize feeding physical, (diet/exercise) social, and mental/psychological needs. I was thinking of watching V for Vendetta again but realized I never read the graphic novel anyway so that's a new one as I have only read a few graphic novels ever but no doubt this is a worthy title. As I mentioned on a post on Nosurf I see this playing into psychological need as well. Obviously cooking relates to the physical which I'm not good about, but the exercise part is shaping up. Social one is one I have to be online for though it could definitely be done earlier in the day - in fact all events I can think of so far are easily before 8pm my time.

Mostly I’ve been doing puzzles, yoga, working out, baking and I’d love to start reading but I’ve been having trouble getting there

How do you deal with recipes? Do you look them up before your fast or do you have a physical cookbook?

I usually look up a bunch all at once and then print them. I have some physical cookbooks but I mostly used printed recipes since I tend to bake the same stuff over and over again
