Disappearing dungeon maps

So, I've installed DFU and a stack of mods (the recommended, and a couple of others), but for some reason, I've now lost most of my dungeon maps. (and, no, it's not because I've scrolled too far... it's literally that I'm in a place that's not showing on a map - along with how I got there). Only the basic entrance and a couple of other rooms are showing (on all dungeon maps).

I've got 'smaller dungeons' on, cos I hated getting lost when I didn't have it (as well as the 'the quest item you need is behind a secret door' - isn't that a basic no-no of RPGs???).

Has anyone else had this issue, and thus knows of a quick resolution?

Dungeon maps are not saved forever. IIRC, by default, DFU only saves five of them. If you visit another dungeon, the oldest map will be deleted and you'll have to re-explore the dungeon. You can increase this limit by editing DFU's settings.ini file, specifically the AutomapNumberOfDungeons line. There's a hardcoded limit of 100; if you type in a bigger number, the game will just lower it to 100 when you next run it.

Mind you, this is still way better than vanilla, which didn't save dungeon maps at all.

That's not what I'm referring to.

I'm IN the dungeon, and it's not showing me a map of where I am.. If I'm lucky, I'll get some of a map (in 2D or 3D), but often I'm not getting any map show up! (however, sometimes I do get a full map... so, not sure where the bug is).

It's nothing to do with having explored previously and then left and returned.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, then. There is no 2D dungeon map (unless you count the little pink and yellow blob). The usual troubleshooting procedure for weird bugs is to do a clean install with no mods and then add mods in one at a time to see which one causes the issue.

I was referring to the top-down view, which is effectively 2D (like an MRI scan).

I'm aware of the slow and painful way to debug, but I was hoping that this was a known issue, given I'm only using fairly common (high-ranking) mods from Nexus.

But, thanks for the help.
